25.01.2022 One of the joys that has come out of the COVID-19 restrictions is that my son, Simon Young was a refugee from Melbourne while his workplace was closed. Its been a delight having him creating in the studio, with his energy and passion for pattern and colour. Proud mama moment. (And its his birthday today - happy birthday Simon)

25.01.2022 How is it done? Behind the scenes... I seriously wish I could work this fast

24.01.2022 The Kingborough Council is running ‘Ignite’ -a exhibition of small matchbox sized art works and large ideas. Details on the photo in the post but only on for a short time.

24.01.2022 Today I farewelled my dear friend, Mandy Beaumont, who has passed away far too young. A fellow lover of all things purple, she was a bubbly, feisty, generous soul and a talented creative who loved making with glass. We will miss you Mandy rest peacefully. Condolences to Miki, Eddie and Gwen Xoxox

22.01.2022 It’s on! So pleased to help Caroline Rannersberger with her interactive Glasshouse Arcadia project. Now open every day at the pavilion at Mawson’s Place. (Constitution Dock.) you can check it out until 27th June. Google it to find times when the music from the plants is accompanied by live musicians

21.01.2022 The first class in the new studio has just finished. Everyone seemed really happy with the space and their work was fantastic. We are all looking forward to seeing the results after the kiln gods have done their magic.

21.01.2022 Something contemplative. Notice difference in the reflections and shadows through the old drawn glass and the flat modern glass. The breeze playing in the trees outside the window

20.01.2022 This highlight was installed this week. It matches windows we did at the front of the house approximately 20 years ago. This doorway leads through to the new, rear extension.

20.01.2022 Leadlight weekend- fabulous projects and lovely people. It’s a good way to spend the weekend.

16.01.2022 I had the pleasure of making these two peacock windows for a pavilion in the north of Tasmania. The client sent some photos now they are installed. I also supplied coloured glass in matching colours for the arched widow early. Loved this commission.

16.01.2022 Im always happy when some amber bottle glass is replaced by something creative. The change to the light in the space is always a pleasant surprise for the client.

15.01.2022 This is the work from the weekend after fusing and slumping. The next class is full but I am releasing new dates later this week if you are interested in joining in the fun.

13.01.2022 Tudor Rose Glass Works is open We are living in unprecedented times. I am constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and for now, my studio is still open and will remain so while authorities deem it safe to do so. I continue to work on commissions and supply glass and products. Your health and safety matters to me, so I have put in place the following measures to STOP THE SPREAD: Studio visits I have implemented a strict cleaning protocol in the studio. As the space is s...mall, if a number of customers come at the one time, I may ask people to wait outside or in their car to take their turn, allowing an adequate distance between people at all times. Please be patient. If you would like to make a specific appointment, please phone ahead of time. Phone orders: If you wish to pre-order and pick up, I can have your goods packed for you and you can pick the goods from a safe allocated area outside the studio. If you are unable to pick up, we can ship by Australia Post or have it delivered to you by Fastway Couriers at a very reasonable cost. I am part of the Axess Glass buying group and you can browse products at https://www.axessglass.com/product-catalogue/ Maybe now is the time to start that project youve not had time for. Workshops and classes. unfortunately, I must postpone my classes at this stage. I will monitor the situation and send out new dates once the Pandemic situation settles down and we are freer to mingle. If you have enrolled in a class with me you will receive an email from me directly discussing your options and I thank you in advance for your understanding. We are all struggling with the uncertainty of this situation. Please do not hesitate in contacting me by phone or email if you have any questions. Stay safe and stay healthy. My hope is that kindness finds you in the midst of this chaos and you can share that with your friends and family. All the best Merinda See more

06.01.2022 Second day of the Leadlight workshop and here are the finished pieces. Sadly one lady had to work but will get to finish her window soon. Beautiful work and happy participants.

06.01.2022 How are you going in these strange times? Its not an easy time for many people. This window was collected by the clients on the first weekend after social distancing was introduced. They live at the other end of Tasmania and built a special rack on their vehicle to transport it, then I helped pack it for them. On Saturday, I was so pleased to receive this photo of it installed. They have said it is making their home a haven at this time.

06.01.2022 Story blocks- a unique way to express your precious moments or experiences. This is the work from last weekends workshop. If you are interested, I still have 2 places available October 17th and 18th. # Tudorroseglassworks #castglassart # fused glass #tellyourstory #memoirwithadifference

06.01.2022 Marc Chagall is a renowned artist and the world is blessed to have a collection of his artwork in stained glass. 02.01.2022 My studio is perched above the beautiful Margate Rivulet. There is a public walkway along the rivulet with access down beside my property. Platypus live snuggled under the banks of the creek. I couldn’t let this retaining wall stay drab. More creatures to come.

02.01.2022 Just installed - a laminated glass splash back with a very unique feature. Enjoy your cooking

01.01.2022 And now for something a little bit different. This glass bathroom shelf adds a bit of class and whimsy. Fused clear system96 with the fish pressed in during the fuse firing. You could learn this technique in the fusing class on Sunday March 1st. (See the website for more details)

01.01.2022 Last weekend a small group explored the intricacies of painting on glass.

01.01.2022 My client brought me two old Leadlights with cracked pieces in them and asked me to make up two new windows in a totally different size and shape. From long tall door panels to landscape rectangle windows also for a door. It was like doing a jigsaw in a different kind of way.

01.01.2022 This is my friend, Keith Dougalls art work in the Foyer of K Block at the RHH. Breath of Life Take some time to watch the video on the website about the story of its creation and meaning. Profound... https://www.catchingyourbreath.net.au/
