25.01.2022 Another morning down at the Shed and some activity. A little bit of learning by a couple of guys about plasma cutting. Matt has been working on this model train layout for about a month. Bit by bit and it is coming along quite nicely. Geoff was making a new piece of trim for a vintage Delage. Myron is trimming a unique piece he had turned a few weeks ago.

24.01.2022 The hands on deck for the Mental Health Week bbq in Civic earlier today. Keith Gilby, Kingsford Gibb, Martin Boling and Alan Caines. We had a fabulous day. We had lots of satisfied customers.

23.01.2022 Geoff at the Shed this morning working a nice piece of red gum that had been hanging about for over a year. His efforts revealed an annoying crack now running up the 'urn' he had created.

19.01.2022 The workshop team recently completed a wonderful project for friend of the Shed, Martin Lambert. As Martin puts it: "My grandfather's 110+ year-old sea trunk had some major structural and timber integrity issues (as you would expect). After much soul-searching and overcoming some initial reluctance, I thought what better way to preserve his legacy than incorporating the timber in a version of Leo Fender's rare prototype "snakehead" telecaster (1949). ... Used a solid pine body (as per '49) with the sea trunk's sandalwood for a thick veneer top, shaped, using Fender's blueprints, by the wonderful woodworkers at 'The Men's Shed' Tuggeranong. Even kept the nautical theme with some brass hardware. A decent heirloom for the grandkids methinks" Great work, team.

18.01.2022 Members past and present of the Tuggeranong Men's Shed have downed tools, to celebrate their ten (10) year anniversary. Reporter Emma Groves was invited to help mark the milestone.

16.01.2022 This morning Matt and Martin went to Mountain View Aged Care Centre in Narrabundah to give them the N guage model railway Matt and others have worked on. The engine and rolling stock were donated by Neale L (from Sydney). We met Joe, a resident, who was quietly pleased and after 'playing with it for a few minutes', we left him to enjoy the rest of the day. He had an admiring gaggle of ladies. We were told Joe had had an extensive collection of model trains before he moved in and he showed us a photo album. And one of the ladies told us about her uncle who used to run the old steam night train from Melbourne to Adelaide. I'd be sure Sally (Recreation Assistant) will keep a weather eye on Joe.
