20.01.2022 Busy times in Stage 5 Agriculture this term, with the AG plot improving as the seasons rolls on. The grounds were levelled in late May this year. This allowed the students to sow down some Vetch and Oats. With the wetter season (hopefully the region receives some good spring rain), there is plenty of feed, helped along with some eager urea spreaders! With the Vetch and Oats growing like crazy, some merino lambs have arrived, hopefully they might mow the feed down. The students... will be looking at some sheep handling skills next term. Dylan levelling the old fence line and knocking down some weeds with the rotary hoe. Damon picking a successfully grown carrot, unfortunately some of carrots didn’t grow too well, they were planted in shallow soil, good lesson to learn and the students will know for next year. Robertson’s concrete delivered some nice red loam top soil, this will be levelled off. Guest appearance by Ricky, shovelling the vegetables up for the chooks, kindly donated by the Co-op. See more
