19.01.2022 ISTANBUL ON CARLISLE STREET We've had a great time over the last 2 weeks , turning Tulum into Istanbul on Carlisle St and selling our simit and Bosphorus fish sandwiches and other treats.People have been lining up to sample our tasty Istanbul street food, so even though Tulum has re-opened, we've decided to keep it going. So from 12 to 2pm, Tuesday through Saturday every week ,we'll be selling our street food. So if you can't be in Istanbul to fish in the Bosphorus from the Galata Bridge, come and enjoy all the street food I loved as a boy. I'll be there on Carlisle St behind my big red simit cart, waiting to serve you!

16.01.2022 Let me take you to my dreamland: Bosphorus!I used to use the ferry to cross the Bosphorus to go to my work. And the best thing to do while waiting for the next ferry was to order a delicious fish sandwich from the fishermen which is simply grilled and served in turkish white bread with raw onion, lettuce and lemon juice. The first bite was just heavenly with the breeze coming from the bosphorus and view of the boats passing by. Available from Wednesday to Saturday 12pm- 3pm at the restaurant 217 Carlisle St Balaclava. Scallops & Saffron Yoghurt Soup Yayla corbasi or Turkish yogurt soup, is a traditional Turkish soup from the northern regions near the Black Sea, however it is commonly found all over Turkey. Each region has its own twists to the recipe, but the base remains the same. At the restaurant we add our own twists to dish to make lighter and fresher for the cold Melbourne nights. We make our own fish stock to infuse with saffron.
