09.01.2022 Tumbarumba Water Supply Update Owners and Residents are advised that Snowy Valleys Council will commence water recovery activities in Tumbarumba on 9 January 20...20 onwards. This objective of the water recovery activity is to transition the water supply from raw water to potable water. The Boil Water Notice remains in place during the recovery process and owners and residents should continue to follow instructions per the Boil Water Notice, until such time as the Notice is lifted. During the water recovery process, Council will undertake the following activities: Continue inspecting and assessing infrastructure; Undertaking water mains flushing around the network. There will be some disruption to water supplies in this time; Commencing displacement of raw water in the network with chlorinated water for disinfection purposes; Undertake water quality monitoring. As there will be an increase in chlorine in the network (which is well below the drinking water guidelines) customers may notice dirty water and a chlorine smell and there may be some skin irritation experienced by sensitive customers. Any persons with discomfort should seek medical assistance accordingly. Council request that residents assist with sharing this water recovery information with persons who may not have access to communications. Council would like to thank customers for their patience; we are endeavouring to bring the water supply system back to a drinkable state as quickly as possible.

09.01.2022 Fire Spread Prediction for Friday 10 January 2020 Severe to Extreme fire danger is forecast for parts of NSW tomorrow, including southern areas of the state. Te...mperatures are forecast to be in the high 30s to low 40s with hot, dry north-westerly winds and low humidity. A south-westerly change will impact inland fires tomorrow afternoon and evening, and a gusty southerly change will impact coastal fires from late tomorrow evening, reaching Nowra around midnight. These conditions will make fire behaviour erratic and dangerous. This map display the potential predicted fire spread and the communities that may come under threat from embers or fire fronts. Other surrounding areas may still come under threat if conditions change, or if fires breach containment lines. There may potentially be new fires burning in these areas that we do not yet know about, which may threaten you without warning. Potential spread area - if your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, you should not be in this area on Friday. Move to a large town outside this area, or if you are on the South Coast, move to an area that has already been burnt or go to the beach. Stay away from the red areas. Potential ember attack area - You are still at risk. If your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, you should not be in this area on Friday. New fires could start and spread quickly. If you are in the general areas identified on this map, be vigilant for new fires that may start well ahead of the fire front. High res versions are available on our website at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//predicted-fire-spread-for-frid
