24.01.2022 Right'o, the weather is looking mint for Saturday and the Port Arthur General Store and Takeaway Rally No 1 of 2021. Fishing time starts 0700 finishes 1600, log on to Tuna Base from 0700 on VHF channel 73 or via VHF channel 81 Cape Raoul repeater if in the southern end of the grid Tasman Island area. Hourly skeds at approximately 10 minutes past each hour till closed. Weigh station and clubhouse open 1500 approximately with BBQ and refreshments available. Don't miss what is shaping up to be a magnificent day with Albacore SBT and Mako on the chew and bottom fish about as well.

At that meeting a sub Committee was formed and charged with the task of drafting a Constitution which could be tabled at a later meeting . In addition to the appo...intment of Paul Lennon as Independent Chair, TARFish has also appointed two Associate Board Members. Mike Stevens will join the board as the Northern Region Representative and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to TARFish that we look forward to drawing on to assist us with policy development in coming months. Alison Hay, a practising lawyer and lifelong fisher, will also join the TARFish Board as an Expert Member. We warmly welcome the strategic thinking and new perspective she will bring to the TARFish Board. 07.01.2022 In September 1960 a sub committee was formed , charged with the task of drafting a constitution which could be tabled at a later meeting . The sub Committee drew up a recommended form of Constitution . On the 6th October 1960 , at the Wrest Point Hotel the Inaugural meeting was held attended by about 35 persons . Mr H H Smart chaired the meting and the Constitution was adopted by those assembled . " The Club was born " . Elections were held immediately , with Mr J E Stanton b...eing elected the Club's first President , Mr T Chopping as the first Vice President , Mr C W Reardon as the first Secretary and Mr L A Phillips as the first Treasurer " ... So i would like to wish The Tuna Club of Tasmania inc a BIG happy 60th birthday . Cheers to all the past and present Presidents , Committee's and Members that made it what it is , and still is to this day , Thanks guys / girls . 03.01.2022 Saturday's weather wasn't the best for our Family Fun Fish day , so we had a much needed working bee at the Clubrooms in Pirates Bay . A big thank you to the Committee boys who attended , as well as a big thank you to Club Members Marc Lagerewskij and David Hawkins and his boys Zane and Cameron for getting in and lending a hand . Got everything all ship shape for the upcoming season . Top job guys ...

03.01.2022 Great turn out of boats for the final rally for the 2020 / 2021 season , the tuna were on the chew , so all boats in the rally got some action , with around 20 SBT tagged n released and 2 SBT weighed in . Congrats to senior member John Edwards and Junior member Blake Lampkin on their captures on 8kg line ( 8.50 kg for JE & 11.70 kg for BL ) . The other highlight of the day was seeing Club Lifemember Shane Banks and his daughter Jasmine enjoying some time at the Clubrooms , Shane even broke out the tongs and cooked up at treat of burgers on the BBQ . Great little end of season get together ...
