23.01.2022 Great brains are formed through music making! This is so cute!!

21.01.2022 20 years of Shoalhaven Youth Orchestra!

18.01.2022 This interview with Dr Gai Lindsay from UOW is more focused on visual arts in early childhood education and care but still provides a window into how we (as adults) think about ourselves, whether a parent or a teacher. Do you think of yourself as 'musical'? If you like music, you are musical and it's usually not having had an opportunity to practice and develop your skills that makes you think you aren't musical. Our thinking about ourselves, even when we hold it inside, influences how our children think about themselves. So now is a great time to embrace your musical self and share it with your child. Sing songs, play with words, dance. This is brain-building, wellbeing-enhancing and fun for all of us, whatever age we are!

18.01.2022 Music is certainly a mood lifter, and we are keen to get our classes back up and running to provide a nurturing environment with lots of music, learning and fun for your children. At this stage we anticipate to recommence classes in the first week of Term 3 - starting Monday 20 July 2020. To enrol your child(ren) or for more information please contact the Tuning In Manager: [email protected], P 0490 627 235.

15.01.2022 Hope you and your child will be joining us at Tuning In this year for wonderful music making (and brain building)! Don't hesitate to contact our manager Liz, or go to our website to find out more. W: https://www.shoalhavenyouthorchestra.com.au/music-classes-/ E: [email protected], M: 0490 627 235

13.01.2022 Tuning In is offering the JuMP program for 7 - 12 year olds in Kangaroo Valley in Terms 2 and 3. JuMP is a two term program for children to experience a variety of instruments, including recorder, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, piano, percussion, guitar and drama. Children will develop music notation reading and other musicianship skills, and will be advised on which instrument(s) they are most suited to learning. JuMP will be available at the Kangaroo Valley Hall on Thursday afternoons at 4.30pm, starting Week 1 in Term 2 (pending class interest). If you would like more information or to register, please contact the Tuning In Manager, E: [email protected], P: 0490 627 235

12.01.2022 As Tuning In is part of Shoalhaven Youth Orchestra, our classes are also suspended until the end of Term 1 and we will look at all government advice and requirements to determine when we are able to resume. It's a sad but very important decision to contribute to the health of the community. You can still contact us by any of the usual channels for information or to express interest in any of our classes. We hope you all stay well! We will post updates to keep you informed about any decisions taken. Keep washing your hands really well everyone and sing while you wash because the best music is the music you make yourself.
