The twists, turns, hills, traffic lights, bridges and tunnels of our bike track let kids enjoy riding their bikes, while teaching them how to do it safely. And now the track has taken home the gold award for landscape design at the DRIVENxDESIGN 2020 Sydney Design Awards.... Thank you to Turf Design Studio + Environmental Partnership, Alluvium, Fiona Robbé, Sydney Civil, Hargraves Urban and Aileen Sage Architects for working with us on this project. This superbly designed space has been a really valuable addition to one of Sydney’s best parks."

Our publication demonstrates that the built environment, planning, architecture, landscape architecture and design interact with each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. And most ...crucially: not just on an aspirational level or as future potential but through realised buildings, settlements and cities all over the world. Celebrating Turf’s Hercules Street Park, the Jury said: Northshore Hamilton Queensland’s largest waterfront urban renewal project is a significant milestone in the ongoing development of the 304ha priority development area. This project reminds us of the value of public parks and the need to include open space wherever there is a resident population needing exercise, recreation, play, and engagement with each other and with nature. Hercules is a signpost, it’s about repurposing, reshaping our cities, in an expression of optimism, about community and what we need in the years ahead. Parks are vital for these emerging communities: as Australian cities urbanise, parks are our new backyard. - Mike Horne, Director, Turf Design Studio Hercules Street Park integrates play, exercise and green open space into a growing community that was once an industrial precinct.
