This morning a team of trucks departed the Far North Coast heading ...to Queanbeyan, east of Canberra, to be deployed to assist in the fire operations on the NSW South Coast. These crews will release the initial Strike Team that departed on Monday. Stay safe to all. Thanks to Alliance Airlines for their assistance in getting the crews south.

17.01.2022 It has been a massive week for 2 Tweed Coast RFS members along with 16 others from the Far North Coast team that have spent the last week assisting with the fires between Canberra and Cooma. It was great to be able to assist the local crews with their massive task of trying to contain these fires.

13.01.2022 Please spread the word, Santa is coming TODAY on the fire truck, leaving the station at 330pm sharp. We will be doing our best to ensure we go down every street. Keep an eye out for Santa

13.01.2022 There will be a statewide Total Fire Ban in place tomorrow. Although the fire danger will be less than today, we are still expecting moderate winds from the south to southeast to impact on the more than 150 fires burning across the state.

02.01.2022 Not long now, Fire Trucks are ready to go. Santa will be arriving soon. Trucks are leaving the station at 3:30pm sharp. Please remember we are on call 24hrs a day 365 days a year, if we do happen to get called to an emergency we will advise everybody via Facebook. 01.01.2022 Early end to Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) The BFDP will finish at midnight Saturday 29th February for the Ballina, Byron, Lismore, Kyogle, Richmond Valley... and Tweed Shires. From Sunday, fire permits will not be required. However, you still must call the Burn Notification Line on 1300 632 174 at least 24 hour prior to burning, and advise neighbours in all directions. For any further queries, contact the Far North Coast Fire Control Centre on (02) 6671 5500.
