"As health professionals, we profusely apologise for the angst this sign has caused. They have been removed from the pharmacy. As a pharmacy, we constantly serve other health professionals (themselves or those who act for their patients), and have never discriminated in any manner. In the current climate of frustration, we too, have bore th...e brunt of people’s anger being on the front line. But our role is to serve the people, and it’s something we take with pride. The sign in question was put up in relation to the adjoining medical centre who have an entrance through the pharmacy, who wanted to screen those entering the medical centre by phone prior to entry. The policy for entering the medical centre is: "To protect our patients, doctors and team, we will only have a single entry into the medical centre. All incoming patients will be triaged by our nurses prior to entry to help identify potential Covid-19 cases. Patients who present with cold and flu like symptoms or have a temperature above 38 degrees or are designated as a high risk person as per the government guidelines may be treated by a doctor outside the practice or inside the practice at the doctors discretion or referred to the fever clinic or Covid-19 testing centre."
