24.01.2022 At Kindy during our yoga practice , mindfulness , peaceful piggy rituals and morning circle meditation we bring hands to heart and offer the gesture of Namaste to each other . In understanding the word and the respect it offers , the children have also added their own words saying we see the candle burning in each other , the rainbow in each other and stars and the sun in each other . Wonderful thoughts and understanding . Namaste .

23.01.2022 We are off on our community walk today Group 2 friends.... Don't forget your closed in shoes.....

23.01.2022 Which came first the caterpillar or the butterfly. Watching the amazing life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. Lovley to see our friends still fluttering around our garden.

22.01.2022 Who owns these footprints we wondered? Then along comes a new friend named Henry for us to meet. Are they your footprints Henry? We asked Henry's human... can we pat Henry? The answer was yes. Henry was a little shy. Maybe he will remember us next time we meet him.

22.01.2022 Families we ask you to be aware of the updated list for the Qld Public Health Alert . Have you traveled to any of these locations?

22.01.2022 Thank you Miss Suzette from Rainbow Stories for Children for your visit today.... A beautiful calming experience for children and educators.

22.01.2022 A little bit of self care for everyone to start the week. You have to look after yourself to be able to look after others ....

21.01.2022 Happy World Teachers Day to our Twin Towns Kindy staff . It has been a very challenging year to say the least . However each and everyday you have all brought your generosity of spirit , kindness , energy , creativity , professionalism, passion and skills to keep our Kindergarten a place of awe, wonder and joy for the children . For many weeks you all juggled two programs one at Kindy and at home learning . This is whilst managing the needs and dynamics of your own families ...during the height of the Covid impact . Making sure each of the our Kindy children and their family maintained continuity of learning and connection to our Kindergarten. You juggled and wore all the hats necessary and quickly learnt new skills to enable you all to make sure that what we offered our Kindy children stayed true to our philosophy , reflected and honoured the children’s voices , was meaningful and the essence of quality early childhood education . We thank you , admire you and appreciate you today and everyday . See more

20.01.2022 We are looking forward to hanging these chains on our tree this week . Please return your link so we can add them to our tree .

20.01.2022 Dad’s and Grandad’s come in all shapes and sizes . Like most things it is not a one size fits all relationship. So we send out happy wishes and sunshine to all those celebrating today. Whether this special person is near, far or in our memories we acknowledge the role these people have played in our lives . Reminder alert ! : Kindy friends remember to get the other part of your Dad’s gift out of the fridge . Yum! All made with love .

20.01.2022 The perfect calendar to lead us through December .

19.01.2022 Everyone loves The Gruffalo . A great musical version here from Savannah Kids .

19.01.2022 It’s SWELL time of the year again. Currumbin Brach is the place to be . Check out their program for a list of events along with the fabulous sculpture walk .

19.01.2022 Group 1 friends had planned this weeks walk as " Out of the gate, across the road, down the lane , up the hill , down the long stairs and we hope we find our dragon!" We love maps and talking about directions. So many discoveries and adventures along the way. Including finding a native hive in the side of a tree and a butterfly landing on Ms Michelle's hat. Our journey sticks accompanied us on the exploration with a stop at the " gum nut tree" to collect a treasure to add to our sticks. The steep stairs took us all the way down with a few taking the challenge of climbing all the way back up. And oh the fun and laughter of sliding down embankments. All possible sliding angles explored. And we end our journey with a TRUG.... a tree hug

19.01.2022 Group 1 Friends .... sleep well and remember those closed in shoes for tomorrow’s Walking Wednesday Nature walk . Thanks for helping pack the wagon today. Our vests and wooden necklaces are ready to go and so is our mate Frilly . See you all in the morning .

18.01.2022 Wednesday Walking in our community today for Group 1 friends . Today we are exploring Kirra Point / Kirra Groin area and the little rocky beach . Will we see some surfers? Will The Point look like the old photos we have looked at.? Will the Mibban ( sea eagle ) statue hover above us ? ... And will we find our dragon ? See more

18.01.2022 Look who just happened to appear on our last walk today . Yes you guessed it . The dragon ! What a special way to end our walks for 2020 with a stroll through the Strand to count the Christmas trees and look at all the decorations . Even the dentist who had just finished putting up their Nativity invited us in to have a look . We were also warmly welcomed by Kate ( one of our Kindy families ) from the fabulous new toy shop Sandy Crab to have a look inside and at their fabulous pink Christmas Tree . Next stop Baskin & Robbins for ice creams . One of the Simple pleasures of life sharing icecream with your friends . Happy Days .

18.01.2022 Walking Wednesday in our community took us on another walk down the lane of our local history. In fact up a big hill to explore more of our Coolangatta history. The children have been taking on the challenge of climbing up hills in our neighbour hood and enjoying the birds eye view of our surrounds. This walk we were on the search for an old school, Mibban ( sea eagle ) , our dragon and an icrecream. And thankfully we found them all. Our lead up discussions to this walk had us looking at old photos of Kirra Hill, the original Coolangatta school that recently celebrated its centenary and exploring some of the Yugumbeh words for animals. Hence our journey to find the Mibban up on Kirra Hill. Happy days exploring our community together. Our Twin Towns Kindy philosophy celebrates and acknowledges we all have a past , present and future .

17.01.2022 In the spirit of giving we invite our Kindergarten Community to add a little something to the wagon for our Red Cross Food Appeal .Thank you in advance. As a gesture perhaps invite your Kindy child to add the item to the wagon. Opening up to them the opportunity to give to others.

12.01.2022 Our Kindy friend found this rock as he was walking around Jack Evans Park . We looked up VIC ROCKS and were excited to find lots of wonderful painted rocks . The concept behind the painted rocks is to bring a smile to the face of the finder and then they hide the rock for the next person . This one has obviously made its way interstate when rocks were able to cross the border . We love this idea so much at Kindy Group 1 friends are going to start creating KINDY ROCKS this week . Watch this space !

04.01.2022 Happy days in the winter sunshine grew in to making plans for a tea party. Not a blob of mud in sight as the menu was for banana bread and cups of chamomile tea. Lots of planning, sharing ideas, listening to others, creating, cooking and making lists . In the spirit of friendship and belonging eveyone was invited and weclome. Individual invitations drawn and hand delivered. Great care was taken and respect shown for the old tea sets and china used for the party. Happy winter days at kindergarten.

04.01.2022 Twin Towns Kindy philosophy encourages children to respect , care and have empathy a they appreciate all aspects of the natural environment and learn to incorporate sustainable practices in their daily living. This week we welcomed Alex a local bee keeper from Little Bee and Me to come and check our hive and bring some busy bee learning and fun our way. And it was great to hear our hive is incredibly healthy and our bees are chilled and relaxed and happy.

01.01.2022 Our beautiful winter flowers are bringing lots of opportunity for our potion making at Kindy but also bring lots of joy as the children cut them and arrange them in vases. We are fortunate enough to have a collection of beautiful old hand embroided doilies that the children select from. The vases of flowers bring colour to our room and smiles to the faces of everyone. This is becoming a special ritual for quite a few of the children.

01.01.2022 Mallet work with ropes and pegs are serious business during outdoor play . Using real tools in a respectful, careful and purposeful manner .
