25.01.2022 After two lovely nights at Jarrahdene we farewelled Cyndy and Wayne and headed 52k to Sue’s Bridge. Managed to get two van sites 2 and 4. Walked to the bridge along the river, enjoyed an arvo of cards and Johns fire after dinner. Nice spot other than the annoying midges during the day.
24.01.2022 So 160k from Bindoon to Mandurah on our final day....the vans unpacked....now to wash everything and clean the van ready for storage, till the next trip. Its been a great two months away. Met some lovely people, enjoyed new camping places, Yardie Creek, Karijini and Kialrah Pool. Met up with Lotus family members Pam and Kevin Pugh, Sarah and Andrew Bedell (Great butcher shop in South Hedland) and waved today to Caroline and Muzz McKay as they passed us. Always good to get home again to spend summer here..... and why wouldnt you?? Thanks for tagging along, hope you enjoyed the journey too. Till next time .....hooroo!!
24.01.2022 After 4 relaxing glorious nights at Wooramel Station stay we left and headed to Galena Bridge free camp for two nights. Neighbours from Mandurah, Helen and John met up with us our last night at Wooramel and we had a fire and drinks with them. Poured with rain the first arvo and night at Galena. I gave the others a flogging in Phase 10 cards and we enjoyed a short 5s due to the cold. The place was packed on the Sat night......at least 50 RVs in by nightfall. Left today for the 85k trip to Kalbarri where we are booked into the Murchison CP for 4 nights. Rained as soon as we got here and all day. Caught up with Bazs brother Phil and Jane and bugger me....his other brother Brian and Lyn also here. Had a good 5s with them all and Bernice and John.
23.01.2022 A beautiful day today at Quobba.... blue skies and a lighter wind, but see that cloud bank??? Its coming in. We walked the full length of the camping area then back along the beach. The sand was too soft so back onto the main track. A few fishing.... not successful though. I think the fish know where the sanctuary ends and dont cross the line....
23.01.2022 Pano of Turquoise Bay
23.01.2022 Left Quobba at 8 this morning after getting hammered by gale force winds all night then the rain started this morning. Only about 80k in so shopped at Woolies before heading into the caravan park. This is our fav park.... always stay here. They have lots on most nights plus the Bowls green for the bowls fanatics and Phil Inn the muso from Mandurah is playing here tonight. Woohoo. Hes really good. Just heard the main road near Wooramel is three foot under water. Hope it clears by Tuesday or we wont be getting in there for our three day stay.....
23.01.2022 Yay....were here. Shopping and fuel done. Off to Yardie Creek for 4 nights.
23.01.2022 After a great catchup with Ron, Shirley, Graeme and Jan at Barradale last night, we did farewells this morning. Theyre off to Onslow for a few nights.....us ...a huge 41k to Burkett Drive rest area. In to Yardie Creek tomorrow for four nights and will join Bernice and John.
23.01.2022 A glass of red, a fire and a Lotus. What more could you want??

21.01.2022 Pano of the Kalbarri Skywalk.
20.01.2022 So today we travelled 196k from Onslow to Barradale rest area. When we arrived we noticed Jan, Graeme, Ron and Shirley already here. Lots of catchup chats, 5s and after dinner a lovely fire and more drinks. A great night.
18.01.2022 Last days journey from Carnamah to Bindoon. 210k. Drove through more endless carpets of Canola. Such a beautiful sight today under blue blue skies. Were now parked up at the Bindoon oval...$20pn power and water, toilets, hot showers and a dump point, but only 6 sites so youve got to get in early ....like us. You pay at the post office next door. Settled in and walked down to the famous Bindoon Bakehaus here for a pie and cake and coffee.
18.01.2022 When the station horses gate crash your 5s.....and give Baz a kiss
18.01.2022 After setting up at the caravan park we took the map and instructions given by the park host and drove exactly 21.6k our past the BP service station, found the cloth tied around a road post and walked in 10 yards left and found this fully in flower sole Wreath Flower. Drove on to Pindar and whilst there are hundreds.... none as good or as fully formed as the first single one. Left there and returned to The Waterfalls on the Carnarvon-Mullewa Rd. Lots of everlastings out in the area, white, pink and Yellow.
18.01.2022 Guess whos cooking tonight???
17.01.2022 A lovely sleeping night at Jarrahdene.... so peaceful. After a cooked brekkie we went walking through the old mill area and campground loops checking the sites. Still a lot of flowers out. (And the March flies). This is really a stunning campground. Nice to see the ranger early, doing a check on campers and the park cleaner doing the toilets and BBQ’s.
17.01.2022 John and Bernice picked us up and drove us out today the 36k to the Kalbarri WA skywalk. What a fantastic design and structures. Even a cafe. Lots of people out there. Glad to see the entrance is manned to collect park fees and or to observe annual park passes. Should happen at all national parks. Theyd make a lot more money
17.01.2022 My cheese damper for morning tea/ lunch.
17.01.2022 Drinks and Pizza at Whalebone In Exmouth WA. Not even 5 and its packing the people in.
17.01.2022 A terrific fire pit here at Carnamah CP. Used the bbq to cook tea then enjoyed this fire for a while.
15.01.2022 OMG. I retract my previous post...... its now blowing at 55kph wind gusts. Staying inside to avoid sand blasting . Had the best view yesterday however of a whale in near the blowholes....breaching. Head way up then its tail and a fin. Amazing sight.
14.01.2022 Best night tonight at Wooramel....the camp dinner. And Anne Bavin....Sax and the Single Girl was here entertaining. Beef stew and damper. Terrific night. New area for dining with chairs and tables and party lights. Camp hosts very sociable.. a must stay place.
14.01.2022 Well, after 4 wonderful relaxing days at Yardie Creek Camp we are now parked up at Exmouth waiting for 2pm when we can get into our site at RAC Exmouth CP. Two glorious days at Yardie and two windy ones. Blew a gale this morning. We did the Yardie Creek boat trip one day and Capt Ash was full of gibber jabber. We learnt lots about local history, birds, plants and rock wallabies. Terrific one hour boat tour. Checked out Turquoise Bay and Osprey Camp. Here in town now for another three days.
12.01.2022 Today dawned clear skies..... no rain, so we set off for brekkie at the Black Rock Cafe only to find the doors shut due to a Western Power upgrade of poles in town and an outage from 830-330pm......town wide. Home again for bacon rolls. Set off later to do the cliffs again just out of town. It is really a spectacular part of the WA coastline. The Natural Bridge, Shell cove and Grandstand. Saw a few whale spouts in the distance and a huge pod of dolphins fishing off the cliffs. Heres a few pics.
12.01.2022 Home again. Van unpacked, washing done.....time for one of these. Till next time........
12.01.2022 A lovely brekkie at Black Rock Cafe with Bernice Harlock and John then we went to watch the Pelican feeding.
12.01.2022 Great news to wake up to today. We won!!! Woohoo. Pay up Clive.
10.01.2022 Left Exmouth at 9 and travelled about 190k .....Stopped at Lyndon River West intending to stay overnight but the wind was blowing a gale and it was very dusty, so we moved on another 32k to Minilya Roadhouse to fuel up and settled in at the free camp over the bridge. Less windy here and we scored a shelter and table with a fire pit. No water in the river. 11 RVs in at 130pm... Im betting itll be packed later with the amount of travellers on the roads.
08.01.2022 Left Carnarvon after two nice days at Wintersun CP. raining this morning and lots of water alongside the road. Only 119k to Wooramel Station. The 2 k road into the station was quite muddy and cut up. Luckily a second parallel road was pretty good. You can understand why they shut it in the wet. Pay three stay four offer we took and also paid for the camp dinner tomorrow night. Always a good feed. Flies are friendly so the swishers are out again.
08.01.2022 Our last day on the road and we wake to this!!! 3.1 and fog!!!
07.01.2022 At 930 this morning we set off to do the one hour Mullewa wildflower walk trail which starts opp the caravan park. Lots of everlastings and saw some spider orchids and some local artwork is along the trail as well.
07.01.2022 A lovely meal at famous Finlays. 3 Lehman bros together. Doesnt happen often.
06.01.2022 Left Kalbarri after four days and headed off the 242k to Mullewa Caravan Park where we are staying two days to start our wildflower journey throught the wheatbelt wildflower towns. Stopped in Northampton for a cuppa. Theyve done like Cowaramup (Cowtown) but with artistically painted sheep all over town. Drove through the Chapman Valley route to Mullewa. Its a very scenic route. Lovely to see all the lush Wheat, Canola and Lupin crops which have benefited greatly with the late rains of recent.
06.01.2022 After a busy night at Minilya (30vans) we headed off 200k to Quobba Blowholes camp. Managed to get two spots next to each other in the front section.... closer to the loos and the beach and blowholes. Since we were here two years ago, there is now a new Telstra tower, so full 4G signal rather than go up to the lighthouse for a signal. $11 pp.pn which a host collects nightly. Chance of rain too. Here for two nights then two nights at Wintersun CP in Carnarvon.
06.01.2022 Bazza cooked again, gee hes getting good at this.... our last night so out to the Beach Club. Great views over the ocean and nice food and wine. Off this morning, 196k to Barradale rest area for the night. Hoping to meet up with Jan, Graeme, Ron and Shirley
04.01.2022 So weve spent the last three days at the RAC Exmouth. Brand new facilities. Very flash. Place is packed. All parks are.... overflow is packed as well. Caught up with Jean and Paul a couple of times. 5s at our park last night and lunch today at Froth Brewery. Bought some prawns at the Fish place today and managed to get a hair trim at The Birdcage Hairdressers. Weather has been great but a bit windy and cool in the mornings. Ran into another Lotus owner tonight at the bbq who we had met at Broome last year...John. Off to Lyndon River West rest area tomorrow with John and Bernice.
04.01.2022 Left Mullewa to do the 169k to our next nights stop at Carnamah WA. Stopped at Mingenew to do the famous bakery but being Sunday the place was packed with a huge queue (def no social distancing here) so we went the extra 50k to Three Springs..... bugger, no cafe...so on the final 22 k to Carnamah. What a lovely, well set out park @ $28.50 a night. Amazing camp kitchen, immaculate facilities and free washing machines. No bookings here, just rock up early.
04.01.2022 Pano of Quobba Beach. WA
03.01.2022 Pano of The Waterfalls at Mullawa WA.
02.01.2022 Left Sue’s Bridge this morning heading home. Stopped at Harvey at the bakery for an early lunch and coffee. Lovely place and great pies and bread.
02.01.2022 Drove 50k out to Coalseam this afternoon to check out the flowers. Not as many as on our walk in town this morning. But heres a pano of the Irwin River and the breakaway.
01.01.2022 Weve had 4 great days at Kalbarri catching up with the Lehman Bros. Off tomorrow at 9 am to Mullewa caravan park for two nights to check out the wildflowers. Pindar to do the wreath flowers and surrounding areas for others. Pics to follow. I feel a fire and mulled wine coming on.
