22.01.2022 TWO BLUES JUNIORS BIG CONTRIBUTORS IN GCA JUNIOR REP TEAMS ANNOUNCED TODAY Well done and best wishes are extended to the following Two Blues Under 15 and Under 17 juniors who’ve been announced as members of the 2020/21 GCA Junior Rep teams. In the absence of the CV YPL tournament this summer, these boys will be representing Geelong in a turf carnival played between Geelong (two teams), Bellarine, Colac, Ballarat and Gisborne on Janurary 4-7th. ... Good luck lads!
21.01.2022 Great News for Two-Blues Juniors!! Players and Families, We’ve just been informed by the GJCA that, given the regional Victoria restrictions being moved to ‘Step 3’, that our junior cricket season will be commencing with the first round of matches scheduled just one month away, on Friday, October 16th.... There’s obviously lots for us to organise in the space of a month, but we’re all very excited and glad to hear that our sport will be able to commence so soon! For now, the most important thing is that everyone who wants to play this season REGISTERS ONLINE ASAP. We need everyone to register by September 25th as we have to submit the number of teams to the GJCA that we are entering into the various age groups by the 28th. Here is the link: https://www.two-blues.com.au/register Note: If any families have multiple children to register, please email me and I’ll provide you with a sibling discount voucher. If there are any specific requests as to whether you would like to play on a Friday night or Saturday morning (for Under 13 players), please let me know via email. Finally, if there areany groups of friends you’d specifically like to play with, also let me know and we’ll try and accommodate that as much as possible. (for Under 11 and Under 13 players). Protocols around COVID-safe procedures during training and match days is to be provided shortly, by Cricket Victoria. We will circulate all this information to players, families and coaches as soon as it becomes available. So, for now, get online and register and we can all look forward to a slightly different but equally appealing summer of outdoor junior sport with the Two Blues! There’ll be more emails in the coming days regarding training times, this year’s coaches and ordering your playing top. Stay tuned! Shaun Patterson Junior Co-Ordinator [email protected]

19.01.2022 Well done to our Under 13 Morgan team on Friday night with a tremendous run chase against Geelong City. Scoring a swashbuckling 52 off 39 balls, Banjo Savage enabled our team to get the winning run (7/143) off the final ball of the night! Great effort team...very well deserved!!
19.01.2022 If you're not playing cricket with the Two Blues, why not?
19.01.2022 Message from Tom Levick, Newtown and Chilwell Cricket Club President. Huge effort by Ben and a few others over the weekend hanging up the rubber around the nets and really completing the finishing touches of our net refurbishment in time for training to commence. Massive thanks to all that helped.
18.01.2022 Our friends at Metricon have a great 4 bedroom new home offer for anyone thinking about a new home build. Check it out here - https://view.e.metricon.com.au/
17.01.2022 NForce The need for speed! Sunday morning our bowlers got plenty of tuition courtesy of Simon Feros (with the fast bowlers) and Brad Stacey providing our leg spinners with an excellent 90 minutes of specialist coaching. Well done to all the boys and their enthusiasm with our development program and we look forward to seeing you put into practice all the things you’ve learnt over the last 3 weeks. ... There’s nothing like the lure of a radar gun to fire up a junior quick! Here are a few snippets of the boys in action. Next up is a practice match against the seniors in a fortnight and then into the season proper amongst their Under 15 and Under 17 team mates. A big ‘thank you’ also to our new senior recruit, Tom Meredith, who volunteered to be a batsmen for our quickest bowlers to bowl to and also for the guidance he’s provided our budding wicketkeepers. A quality addition to the club! Regards, Shaun Patterson Junior Co-Ordinator
14.01.2022 Two Blues Juniors and The NForce This Sunday marked our second session of the 2020 NForce program: a series of workshops being co-ordinated by Stephen Field (Barwon Rockets) and a group of high performance coaches that has been tailored for our older rep level players. There 18 boys from across our Under 17 and Under 15 teams who have been treated to a series of drills and training that reinforces the competitive tactics that can be employed at higher levels of cricket and wi...ll hopefully prepare them to transition into senior cricket. First up this morning the boys were presented with their shirts by club greats Don Royce, Max Ellis, Greg Wells and Russell Mitchell. A couple more sessions of training will then culminate in a match against another regional Victorian club in December. Thanks to all the parent coaches and helpers who’ve made this program possible and we look forward to watching the boys take these newfound skills and awareness into their games throughout the coming season. Go Two-Blues! Regards, Shaun Patterson Junior Co-Ordinator
14.01.2022 JUNIORS, GET YOURSELF A TWO BLUES HOODIE! Yes folks, because it's the start of cricket season we all know that means the weather turns pear-shaped and we all end up freezing on a Friday night! Plus, junior games are going to start at 8:15am on Saturday mornings this year and 8:15am is, well, not exactly the hottest part of the day! So, if keeping warm appeals to either parents or players then do yourself a favour and order a great value Hoodie from our valued sponsors, Hip P...ocket Geelong. At just $50, these club embroidered Hoodies will keep you toasty when those cool Antarctic winds blow across Belmont common! Here's the link. It takes just a minute to register, then select our club and order your Hoodie of choice. Caps and polos are also available. 13.01.2022 Word has reached us that premiership player Paul "Shifty" Sheahan, seen here second from left, bottom row, with his Sixth XI team-mates in 2000 (he's a lot older now), achieved the ultimate last weekend - a hole in one - at Royal Bannockburn golf course. Eye-witness reports say he was like a kid at Christmas.
12.01.2022 After words with (from) Russell Mitchell, Tommy P finds his groove. Tommy Patterson scored a ton (of sorts) on Saturday as an opener with a 50 retired (Under15s) & 52 retired (Sando’s 6ths). In the 15s, our top order set the platform for a great team win as we chased down Joeys in our top of the table clash. Well batted and here’s to plenty more runs in the second half of the season!.

07.01.2022 Two Blues members and supporters, In light of the state government easing COVID restrictions we just wanted to give you an update of where the club is positioned currently. Although we can now get together in groups of up to 10 for outdoor exercise the club is still finding out how this impacts us and how we can operate. As of now we are still awaiting confirmation of return to play protocols from Cricket Victoria, the GCA and the City of Greater Geelong. We expect to hear fr...om all parties in the next couple of days and until we have clear direction we are unable to hold club sanctioned training sessions and events. This is not only for your safety but so we, as a club, can make sure we follow every rule laid out to us and give everyone the best possible chance of getting out and playing cricket as soon as possible. If players, as members of the public, wish to do some sort of training, you are more than welcome and highly encouraged to do so. If you do choose to use the facilities at Queens Park please do so responsibly and within state government guidelines, especially making sure that you follow physical distancing measures and keeping attendance in the whole of the net area at no more than 10 people at any time. Once we have all of our return to play measures in place you will be notified of when we will resume club sanctioned training and of anything else going on at Queens Park via the usual channels (Facebook, WhatsApp, email etc.). It’s been a tough six months for everyone, let’s do this right so we can enjoy doing what we all can’t wait to do. Season 2020/21 will be very different to any other year we’ve played and very soon we’ll be able to take the field with the mighty Two Blues. Tom Levick President Newtown and Chilwell Cricket Club
