25.01.2022 A couple of weeks back, I had the opportunity to take some images for Eagle Heights Mountain Resort to help them promote their new Marquee Wedding packages. They're situated at the top of Mount Tamborine and have stunning, uninterrupted views over the entire Gold Coast. Here's a couple of images from the afternoon... ;-)
19.01.2022 While we were visiting Freycinet in Tassie, we stayed at Swansea, on the other side of the bay. Captured this image one afternoon looking across the bay towards The Hazards. #tasmania
17.01.2022 Narawntapu National Park is located on the North Coast of Tasmania and Springlawn campsite is renowned for its abundance of wildlife - and in particular, it's wombats. Indeed, a quick google search on Springlawn pulls up a myriad of wombat images. On arrival however, we were devastated to learn that the area's wombat population had been practically wiped out a couple of years earlier by an outbreak of Mange. The area is still very beautiful and still has an abundance of bird life, kanagroos and other marsupials.
16.01.2022 A weekend adventure saw us 30kms west of Warwick at a place called Thanes Creek, lining up for an 8hr rogaine covering several private farms / sheep stations.
16.01.2022 Managed to get out early this morning to catch the Blood Moon. Thankfully it wasn't quite a cold as it has been and clear skies prevailed. Unfortunately it disappeared from view due to the morning light before it got down to horizon level, but still captured a nice shot with Mt. Warning off to the side. A 400mm lens and a cheapish 2x converter gave me some extra length to get fairly close to the orb, but the 2x converter let me down a bit in terms of sharpness. Still happy with the final result though.
15.01.2022 Hi guys, Been a while since I've posted on the page. As usual life seems to get in the way of things we'd rather be doing. But nothing gets the juices flowing like a new piece of kit. Here's a first test shot with a Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens taken from our back yard. Not bad given the level of light pollution. Will be taking this baby out for some more artistic night shots shortly. ... And dare I say, it might take the place of my beloved fisheye as my favourite lens. I'm also hoping to post some images from a recent trip to Tassie over the next few days too, so stay tuned.
13.01.2022 One last shot from the rogaine out at Warwick the other week. Think this old girl has seen better days...
12.01.2022 St Helens and The Bay of Fires on Tasmainia's North East Coast is renowned for it's red rocks.
08.01.2022 Freycinet National Park is located on the east coast of Tasmania and is made up of several bays and a large mountain range known as The Hazards. It is renowned for it's white beaches and "water's edge" camping...
08.01.2022 An old farmshed down in the Tweed Valley provided the subject matter for my first nighttime outing with the new 14mm lens... #astrophotography #nightphotography
08.01.2022 Montezuma Falls in Tasmania, lies along the route of the Old North East Dundas Tramway that linked Zeehand to Williamsford and helped service mines along the line. The trail doubles as both a walking trail and also a mountain biking trail that follows a different route. Both end up at the base of the falls.
04.01.2022 We'd been to Cradle Mountain a few years ago and the mountain itself had remained hidden in cloud. So we headed back there this time for a day in the hope we'd at least catch a glimpse. Unfortunately it wasn't to be. But that didn't stop us from heading out anyway, taking in Dove Lake, Lake Wilks, Crater Lake, the Wombat Pool, and Lake Lilla.
01.01.2022 A quick visit to Stanley on the North West Tasmanian coast saw us climb "The Nut" and take in some of the old convict settlement ruins...
