24.01.2022 Same colour, different lighting. It’s always really amazing to see how different colours can look depending on the lighting you are in. This is a prime example where the cooler tones pop through in the brighter lighting, and in a warmer lighting the colour looks sooo different! I love this colour in either lighting @ Two Chairs

I’ve just been working super hard behind the scenes on some new exciting things for next year and trying to create an even better experience for you all when you come into the salon. can’t wait to show you all what is happening next year!

24.01.2022 Could it be?! A Christmas tree up already?! I’m not usually this early to the party, but I freaking LOVE Christmas. 2020, we all know it - it’s been a challenge. I personally know many people who have experienced the hardest times they’ve ever endured this year. And some of them aren’t even covid 19 related, it just made it a whole lot more isolating for them in these hard times. As I put my tree up this morning I put on one of my favourite playlists, watched the birds outs...ide the window, spent some time reflecting and I dug deep and found so many reasons to be grateful for the year that was (and still is) 2020. I don’t mean to disregard the struggles anyone has been through, but I do think christmas is a great time to find some gratitude. How lucky are we that even though we couldn’t hang out with friends or loved ones this year, we could still call, message, zoom or FaceTime?! The fact that we have an absolutely amazing healthcare system, so much free room to move around and a government that is willing to help keep us all on our feet and eating, getting medical assistance and surviving. Gratitude for the fact that we have found so many cool inventive ways to have little side hustles and find little hidden talents or interests we never knew we had. I know this year has been varied for each of us and I don’t doubt that some of us can’t wait for it to be over but please don’t forget to pay homage to the amazing strength 2020 would have sparked inside us. 24.01.2022 Every ending is the beginning of something new. 3 years ago today I was handed the keys to my first very own salon. Oh how time has flown. So many amazing memories were created in my first little business space (well, technically second) of Two Chairs. It really was a home away from home and I am so thankful to each and everyone of you who shared the space with me. You have helped shape me into the hairdresser and business owner I am today. ... I also cannot believe the amazing response I have had of people willing to travel the extra mile (or many extra miles) to come and join me in my new space, boy am I grateful! 22.01.2022 If you don’t fill your cup, how can you expect to be able to give to others when your cup is empty? Self-care has never felt so important to me at a time like this. With time being around family/friends so few and far between, and easily falling into the mode of housework, garden, work, bookwork, cooking, cleaning and running errands being most of what we all seem to be doing, we need to stop, pause and look after ourselves. Whether that means a swim in the ocean (not yet, ...too cold), a warm cup of tea on the deck, reading a book, a pedicure, massage, hair appointment or some meditation, you decide on what is your own medicine. Self care above all else Full cup, full heart.

I am in a profession of service and I love to try and create a very positive and healing environment when you come into the salon. 16.01.2022 WARNING: LONG POST. Being a naturally more introverted personality type I really thought that this temporary shut down period would be a walk in the park. Sure, I would miss doing all of your hair and seeing you all on a regular basis, but a break is always good to grow, be more inspired and come back with a refreshed mind, ready to tackle whatever comes your way. But this shut down and social distancing rules have taught me so much about who I am. And I am shocked. ... I have come to find that without my work, my passion, all of you wonderful people - I feel like my soul has lost purpose. I miss seeing you all walk in my door and we exchange smiles. I miss your new ideas and the great challenges you give me each time you want a colour correction or a new style. I miss the positive impact I can have on your confidence and mood. I miss laughing, sometimes crying and sharing stories and ideas together. My work is such a vital piece in my life’s puzzle and I am realising now more than ever, just how apparent is it that something is missing. I seriously miss you all. 08.01.2022 For all my dearest clients and followers. I am so thankful to have you all come on board with me on my hairdressing journey since going out on my own in 2015. I have found amazing friendships in all of you and you’ve all made my career so fulfilling. The hard times have always been worth it when you get to work with such a wonderful bunch of people. As most of you would know, my lease in Wollongong is coming to a close very soon, and I have been thinking long and hard as to... what direction I would head in, come May 2020. Having commuted for 2 years now, on top of working long days on my feet is taking its toll on me - my health and my body. I have an ongoing injury that gives me chronic pain daily and truth be told, I just don’t think I can continue a 200km round trip on top of a long days work anymore. It is with such a heavy heart that I announce that as of May I will no longer be hairdressing in Wollongong. Although I know it isn’t suitable for some of you, please know that I will ALWAYS welcome you in my new location in Robertson. I am sorry if I have disappointed any of you. I’ve always gone above and beyond and worked extra hours to try and cater for everyone and ensure I fit you all in, so I am hoping you can understand that I have made this decision for myself - which isn’t easy. I really hope before my time comes to a close in Wollongong I can give you all a really wonderful experience in my salon that has been a second home to me for years now. 06.01.2022 It is with an extremely heavy heart I announce that Two Chairs is being put on pause for the time being. This is a decision I have not made lightly by any means. I have realised over the past few days that a fresh new colour, cut or a few extra dollars in the bank are not worth the potential spread of COVID 19. I have clients who have low immunity, are having surgeries, are elderly and compromised and knowing there is absolutely no way to perform my job whilst adhering to s...ocial distancing advice I have decided it is my responsibility to close my doors to help keep the community safe. I appreciate your understanding in this time where we are all doing it tough. I will personally contact all of you who have appointments booked when it is safe to resume services. Apologies for any inconveniences, but I morally cannot keep my business running when I cannot 100% guarantee the safety of everyone in the salon. I thank you all for your ongoing support always, and I hope this doesn’t last too long and I can reopen in the future. Whether you are self employed, have had an industry shut down in your place of employment, are a health care professional, a mother or father, a more vulnerable person. We are all in a really unsure and somewhat frightening situation at the moment. I just wanted to remind all of you that as scary as it may seem, this too shall pass. It won’t be today, tomorrow or next week, but we will come through the other side of this eventually. I... would also like to take the opportunity to remind you all to be there for one another. We’re all in this together, and the more we can help support each other, the stronger we will be as a whole. Heed professional advice. I know it’s tough, but socially distance yourself, stay home if possible, and do the right thing for all other members of our community. Be strong folks, call your loved ones often and send some virtual kisses and hugs via text.
