22.01.2022 My last blog post ended with the words be kind always. That piece was about losing a friend to suicide. Over the past week or so, the words be kind are being plastered across countless profiles pictures on Facebook, because so many people are touched by the suicide of a beautiful person who happened to be in the spotlight. A death that is heart wrenchingly sad to read about, and no doubt, indescribably painful to experience, for those close to her. 12.01.2022 https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=ndjcJAaOVdg This year a lot of focus has been put on our responsibility to keep other people safe during a so called pandemic. Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, can we please take a few minutes to focus on the real, long standing pandemic that’s been around far longer than 2020? These are the statistics governments around the world should be reporting on daily. This is where our health services are so desperately lacking in... funding and resources. The irony of all the planning and development of preventative strategies to avoid a shortage of ICU beds and ventilators, yet a shortage of beds for mental health patients is standard practice in a world where 800,000 people a year die by suicide. How can we ever truly begin to combat stigma when we continue to accept substandard care when it comes to our mental health? And at the same time, we can stop the world for a virus. Our government and media’s focus this year is a true demonstration of how, even in this day and age, we treat our physical and mental health so differently. Please take a few minutes today to watch and share this video to raise awareness on suicide prevention. Please wear your smiles to protect other people and socially connect to save lives #suicideprevention #therealpandemic #worldsuicidepreventionday See more

02.01.2022 Sometimes we hold onto feelings that no longer serve us. Don’t let these feelings manifest into monsters that control us
