25.01.2022 Finished in time for the big prize giveaway this Friday. This is the table we have refurbished and provided to the Bilko's Shed Promotion on Zinc 96.1 Unfortunately we can't be at the draw as we'll be busy delivering all over the place, can't wait to meet the lucky new owner of this now beautiful table. We took a fairly well worn 8 x 4ft table, stripped every once of it back and refinished in Cedar with new 100% Wool cloth, new pockets, nets, feet and we even took time to strengthen the frame. Good luck to those of you that have entered.

24.01.2022 Sometimes you just can't justify holding onto to some things. Unfortunately the growth of our new shop has caught us off guard and once again space is of a premium. So now someone has the chance to pick up this beautiful piece of history. This Alcock Thompson and Taylor Bijou Table is only known to be well past 70 years old, the original owner said his Grandfather had always had it, given this gent is in his 60s you can appreciate that it's no spring chicken. The table is in... amazing condition from top to bottom, the cloth is in very good playable order and there is plenty of bounce in the cushions for those wishing to play on in. The White Cedar Dining top is in beautiful order and certainly turns it into a magic piece of furniture. To own this lovely we are looking for a minimum offer of $3000.00. This table can be viewed at our showroom, 112 Duke Street Gympie, or for online buyers we can certainly arrange a live video inspection. I will post exact measurements tomorrow, but for a quick reference it is a little smaller than the 6ft x 3ft we have in stock. See more

23.01.2022 Today we said C'ya later to our most consistent student, Jay and his family are on the move. Jay has been training with us since we started our Little Whirlwinds program early this year, mostly under the guidance of Viv Mitchell. He has shown enormous improvement and potential and been an absolute pleasure to have around, we've given him all the details on how to continue his journey in his new home town. I'm sure we'll be seeing you in the future rep teams mate. All the best and don't forget to visit..

23.01.2022 Soooo. We are very excited to announce we are bringing back slot cars in Gympie. Some of you well remember me running the old track at Bogart's Formula Fun in the early 90s, and I know a lot of you still have your cars squirreled away like the precious little acorns they are. Heidi and I along with with our great mate, also fellow Bogart's frequent flyer and racer Dale Adams have purchased ourselves a track. Now, this is not any old analogue track, full digital, the second ...of it's kind in Australia to be precise. We have pits, simulated fuel burn, lane change capability, yes its 2 lanes, but races 6 cars at a time. Please be patient as this is a very involved and detailed process to dismantle, transport and reassemble as well as finish the scenery etc. We can't wait to bring the mini motor sport back, hopefully we'll see a lot of you there. 22.01.2022 We've been getting smashed since moving to our new shop on Duke Street, so much so we had to get some help. So we'd love you all to help us welcome Viv Mitchell and Chris Vines to the team, Viv is running the shop a couple of afternoons a week so Heidi can get some life done with the kids along with banking etc, he is a life long member and former champion of the local Snooker club as well as an all round gentleman. Chris is on deck to assist with moves, deliveries and instal...lations as well as whatever else we may need. We have one more joining us shortly but there are a couple of delays before he starts to overcome. These wonderful people have been helping relieve our workload much faster, hopefully early next year I can cut back to 6 days a week.. 22.01.2022 Another great job by MRB Electrical & Earthworks, Matt installed some awesome new wall fans in the shop and the difference was immediate and spectacular. Airflow has made a massive difference to the temperature in the shop, really comfortable now.

21.01.2022 This whole area is undergoing some rearrangements, slow going as we meet our customers needs during business hours. I've been tweaking and shifting and measuring and moving again. So in the wash up it seems we can easily run the Snooker Table and have 7 operating 7ft Pool Tables at all times. All we need now is Covid to go away..

Well, we are not too proud to admit we had an optimistic outlook regarding a Monday reopening, however it turns out we have a LOT more stock and equipment than we even knew. Heidi and I have been smashing away all day and only now are starting to stock the shelves and racks etc. If you need something urgently please don't hesitate to give us a call or an inbox and we'll dig it out for you. The sad news for all of us is I have bookings tomorrow and Tuesday t...hat were made with customers before we even considered the move, so that delays us a little more. We know it's a little disappointing, not least of all for us, but we absolutely promise it will be spectacular... 20.01.2022 The Snooker Table is up and running and ready for hourly hire and the pool tables will follow very soon.We have a number of hire options and are working on a membership program so rather than confuse the issue just give us a call or inbox with your enquiries. Bookings are 100% essential for the Snooker Table as this is the only publicly available table in Gympie.

For the next couple of weeks we are operating school hours as well as our normal Saturday trading hours, hopefully back to full swing from the 25th of May. 19.01.2022 Let's play a game... Those of you that already know our upcoming plan please do not ruin it, so please keep it hush.. What's coming to Typhoon Cues?? I'll give some random but vague clues every day until either someone gets it or we have it in store and it's just plain impossible to hide. The first clue is this, the snooker table with proper playing area allowed takes up 36 square metres, the new suprise takes up 29 square metres.

18.01.2022 Got us a new toy a little while ago, a lovely little cue lathe... Had a lot of fun getting used to it by practicing on many of the second hand cues we have in stock. Had some Taom Fusion Tips sent over, put one on my own cue and absolutely loving it. Also put a Korean Monstar Black on my shop cue, was not overly impressed for the first couple of days but it did start to settle in nicely before delaminating, so will rip it off and try the Monstar Green. Not a cheap exercise, but hey, if it's no good we won't stock it..

17.01.2022 Spend a few minutes with us as we look back over the years. It's our shop's 4th birthday on the 23rd of August so we are planning a HUGE day of celebrations on Saturday the 22nd of August. This will also be our grand opening of the new BIGGER, BETTER store at 112 Duke Street, Gympie. All are welcome from 8am to 5pm. More details to follow. 16.01.2022 Delivery day!!! This morning we had the absolute pleasure of delivering our Zinc 96 Bilko's Shed Promotion Table to Vivian and Des. Des has been flat out getting the space ready, pouring a slab and removing posts and installing new support beams in the roof just to take this awesome prize. They certainly have their priorities in place. Many years of fun times ahead for this wonderful couple and their family and friends.

16.01.2022 We would like to wish all of our amazing customers, friends, supporters and family a very happy and safe 2021. It's been a very different year as we all know too well, for us it has been a very busy one. With the 6 weeks we spent unable to open due to Covid restrictions we were certainly in very choppy waters, but we had 2 amazing landlords and heaps of table work backed up to see us through. After we reopened the decision was made to find a bigger all in one premises, which ...most of you are certainly aware of, this has seen our little business power ahead dramatically. We have 4 employees to assist us with running the shop, deliveries and of course workshop duties. As busy as we've been we get a lot more time in the same building as a family which has been a reward all in itself. 15.01.2022 What an eventful day at Typhoon Cues HQ... Some of you would have seen the post about our coffee, sandwiches, cakes etc this morning which suddenly disappeared. Well, at exactly 9am our machine decided not to work today, our A Frame sign advertising our sanity juice was then promptly reversed over by a tilt tray. At least it was an easy decision to bring it in. We then sold another cracking 8ft table, then I raced down the coast to collect 2 brand new 7ft tables for stock. Go...t back, unloaded them, loaded the 8ft for delivery just in time for the crew from Cooloola Window Tinting to turn up and fit our amazing signage. While they were at it I had Miss Neive and Gage assisting me as we started to put together this beautiful 1908 Snooker table which my good friend Greg Costello passed over to me in a special deal.. 14.01.2022 We delivered this absolute ripper to Dean in Tin Can Bay today, he has waited a very long time to buy himself a table and having rediscovered his love for the game he wanted something special. Using Tassie Oak rails, with our very respected heavy duty pine frame, 6 beautifully made 7 inch legs, 95mm brass feet, brass brackets, empire rails and fitted with Strachan 6811 Tournament Cloth. Dean is absolutely stoked and I had the pleasure of playing a few racks before moving on to the next job. Pretty chuffed as well.

11.01.2022 So as you know we are on the move to a great big awesome shop. But we never would have gotten this far without our wonderful customers, friends, family and supporters and for that we thank you deeply. But an especially big shout out goes to our landlords over the past 4 years, Joanne and Shane Waldock from The Gympie West Store and Service Station who allowed us to set up our first retail store and then opened up to us again to use as our workshop. Then Scott and Jenny Davy f...rom Charlie's Hotel along with their outstanding manager, Pilko. There are simply no words that can convey the gratitude we have for being the amazing people you are and the treatment we have received in our 3 years at the James Nash Arcade, seriously people, if you need a shop in Mary Street, not only incredible value but the absolute best landlords on this earth... Finally to Nerlaine Eastwick for such a great experience in our Barter Street workshop, again, great value available, very easy to communicate with and a pleasure to work with. 07.01.2022 Feel like a game of pool or snooker? Don't have the space for your own, not into the pub and club scene? Finally, after much hard work and organisation we have our hire tables up and running. We have the 12ft x 6ft Snooker Table along with 4 competition standard 7ft x 3ft 6 tables ready to go. We are currently working on our membership system for discounted rates and we will post the full list of options once finalised. Please beware Covid rules regarding numbers and hygiene will be strictly enforced and as such there are limits on the amount of players allowed at any one time with cleaning between hires, so bookings are strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment. Operating hours of hire will be determined by demand, however tables will always be for hire during business hours from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 830am to 1pm Saturday.

The pure excitement and enthusiasm of this wonderful couple through the process is what makes it all worthwhile... We're sure there will be many great memories made in your pool room.

06.01.2022 You already know we are moving, here are the details. We will close the doors to 173 Mary Street this Thursday at 3pm and reopen on Monday the 27th at 112 Duke Street, Gympie. This was very well known as the Bridgestone Truck Tyre Centre on the corner of Duke and Oak Street. Our neighbors are Velmec, Blackwoods and Gympie Motor Group so you can't miss us. We will have some of our old sign boards in place until the new ones are completed. We have to move around 20 tables along... with numerous other items, so please understand if you message us and there is a delay in any reply. We are so excited, the building has a new roof, new insulation, new paint inside and out, new lighting, new male and female toilets and of course our wonderful new carpet flooring. These little rippers are prepared and finished using a quality Australian 5 coat gloss enamel system. Shannon can send them Australia wide at reasonable prices, we also stock a few here, please understand 100% of the sale goes to Shannon so either way you order is fine.

Unfortunately we were unable to hold the event this year, but really looking forward to 2021 to be a boomer... 02.01.2022 We are excited to announce that we are now an official reseller of Taom products, we have a good range of their quality chalk and tips on route including some Taom Chalk Pouches. Taom has been plugging away with their development for a while now and the Pyro combined with the Fusion Tip have won me over. I have certainly put my money where my mouth is and made a heavy startup purchase as I fully believe this to be the best chalk on the market today. 01.01.2022 Thank you so much for sharing our birthday/reopening day with us yesterday. But also to the countless customers we have seen already over the last 3 weeks in the new store and the 4 years in store. The Pot the Lot comp was won by David Mierocha, clearing every ball without missing a shot it 1 minute and 14 seconds. Although he was disappointed with his time it still scored him the $200 store voucher which was generously donated by Lloyd Harragon ($140) and Cam and Benita Pur...die ($60) Our customers draw $100 voucher was won by one by Peter C.
