25.01.2022 Who wants to join me tomorrow at 3.30pm to watch Dafka Duo (David and Rebecca Krycer) at The Boite? Ukulele entertainment and inspiration from two of the best. The perfect antidote to a cold wet locked-down Sunday. Book here now: https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=640416&

24.01.2022 Those of you who saw our show will recall that Karla is inspired by Brittni Paiva, the award-winning Hawaiian ukulele instrumentalist. Here's Brittni playing one of my favourite tunes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIAu0sJggMM&t=65s

22.01.2022 The great Andy Eastwood pays tribute to another ukulele virtuoso, Ukulele Ike. In these difficult times, we all need a star to wish on and a ukulele to soothe and distract us.

21.01.2022 Ukulele friends! Here’s a rare opportunity. Personal lessons with the great Andy Eastwood. Now that’s lockdown time well spent!

20.01.2022 Tune in for a ukulele treat from Dafka Melbourne ukulele duo Dafka (David and Rebecca Krycer) will be brightening our lockdown lives on August 23 at 3.30pm with a live zoom of an exciting concert of folk, gypsy, jazz, Klesmer tunes and original songs from The Boite in Fitzroy North. Guildford and Castlemaine music fans will remember David's terrific workshops at the Guilford Family Hotel.... This is just the inspiration we locked-down uke players need. Join me for a watch party! https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=640416&

14.01.2022 We at Uked! can't bring you our show under current Covid restrictions, but we CAN inspire you by featuring some of the people who came along and played along with Karla, and made the show such a success in Guildford and Newham last year. Here's Kaye Nankervis with a very appropriate lockdown song, Let it Be, played on a very unusual six-string uke. Kaye is proof that it's never too late to take up the ukulele and change your life. I hope, like Kaye, that you're all enjoying ...spending extra time with your ukuleles. From this week on, I'll be choosing videos from uke players around the world to feature here for fun and inspiration. Send me yours! Check out Kaye's Ukulele on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/102283138243670/videos/719736061940009/

12.01.2022 This time last year ‘Uked! - the first play-along musical’ was in full swing, playing to sell-out audiences at the Guildford Music Hall, and at the Newham Mechanics Institute for a return sell-out season in August. Since then, the play has been licensed by David Spicer Productions for others to produce, it has featured in the May 2020 issue of Stage Whispers, and it now has its own website. uked.com.au Thanks to Annie Hardy for sharing these great photos and to our stars Rebecca Morton and Pete Gavin, the wonderful Uked! band, our dedicated volunteers the NUTS and GRUBS, our Parton Alan Joyce at the Guilly, my family for their huge support, the people of Guildford and the ukulele fans and theatre fans who came from far and wide. It was an absolute blast! Who knows, in a post-coronavirus world, we may all get Uked! again!

11.01.2022 Was it only a year ago that we wrapped up our show at Newham? So much has happened since then globally and locally. If ever the world needs to sing and be uplifted by the humble ukulele, it’s now. Karla, we need you to make us laugh again! Perhaps after lockdown, one day, we can bring you back...if, as you would say, it’s meant to be... 10.01.2022 Grab your ukulele and get out on porch - or wherever you can safely social distance - tomorrow morning for Play Music on the Porch Day. It's going to be a sunny day in Melbourne and Spring is in the air, which is something to sing about. Share you video on social media with #playmusicontheporchday

08.01.2022 Ukulele inspiration from Sally's Ukulele in Frankston, Victoria. While it's great to sing and play with, the ukulele is a versatile little instrument that really showcases classical guitar pieces like this. Many pieces area available on TAB if you can't read music. Thank you, Sally, for this beautiful instrumental performance.

06.01.2022 Proof! Playing ukulele makes everyone feel better.
