09.01.2022 Ive been getting down to Anytime Fitness in Doreen on a regular basis now for the past month and Im at that stage that its starting to feel really good. I ne...ver thought Id say that about lifting weights, I always thought it wasnt for me, I get bored, Im not the gym bunny type, all excuses of course. Once I got over the initial hurdle of waking a 5.30 in the morning I now really look forward to my workouts and the sense of accomplishment and Wellbeing that goes with it. Lets not overlook the neurological benefits, the serotonin, dopamine, endorphins and oxytocin that are released, elevate your mood and bring clarity to your thinking. And at 43 I really dont think Im too old and how I feel shows that to be true. Im over the initial pain and stiffness like Ive been dropped in a bath of lactic acid and now its just that pleasant afterburn that lingers to remind me of a good solid workout. I know its hard to get up at 6am on a cold dark winters morning when you poke your toe out of the bed and it feels icy cold while your bed is all warm and snuggly. But here in Australia its Summer and we have nice bright early mornings to wake up to that allow us to establish positive habits which will then be deeply ingrained by the time those dark winter mornings come round again. Age is no excuse, believe me you will feel younger, fitter, healthier, happier, more motivated, more energetic and more at peace with yourself. Gwan
