If you have returned from a high risk country (mainland China, Iran, Italy, or Republic of Korea) in the past 14 days; If you have been identified as a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days; You arrived in Australia from any international destination in the past 14 days (after midnight AEDT 15 March 2020); You are awaiting test results for COVID-19; You share a home or have had extended contact with anyone who meets the above criteria. AND / OR You have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath). These patients are asked to call Ultrasound North in regards to postponing their scan. 22.01.2022 At between 12 and 13 weeks and 6 days you can opt to have the nuchal translucency test (FTS), which is a screening test for the 3 most common chromosomal abnorm...alities, one of which is Down Syndrome. It is VERY important to note that this is not a diagnostic test, it does not tell you if your baby has any chromosomal abnormalities it only tells you if you are low or high risk for Down syndrome. 21.01.2022 Anatomy scans are best performed at 19 weeks. All the vital organs and structure are checked here. As well as placental location. Its a great time to get a 3D pic of baby as well if they are in the mood to be photographed!

Specialist FEMALE obstetric, gynaecological and fertility sonographers. 3. First Trimester Screening (FTS) results given at appointment, with further counselling leading to NIPT, diagnostic CVS or amniocentesis if required.... 4. 3D imaging to enhance gynaecological and obstetric imaging. 5. Close relationship with KEMH, to expedite referral as needed. 6. Electronic images sent to your phone or email. See more

13.01.2022 Attention Dads & partners of pregnant women! To help protect your baby from whooping cough - which is currently a big issue in many states - it's recommended th...at you have a whooping cough booster before your baby arrives (at least every ten years). Did you know most babies who contract whooping cough catch it from a close family member? While pregnancy vaccination is the best way to avoid your baby contracting this potentially fatal disease, it's important that Dads/partners step up and have a jab too. Needles aren't fun, but healthy happy babies are! Which states offer it for free to Dads & partners? -VIC -NT Unfortunately in others states, Dads & partners must pay (usually between $35-$90) and source the stock privately, which can be difficult due to the worldwide shortage of the vaccine. We recommend: -Going on a few pharmacy waiting lists -Getting onto it sooner rather than later - don't wait until your partner is about to give birth! -Try ringing medical centres as they seem to get stock more often than pharmacies. We will both be at the Melbourne Pregnancy & Babies expo this weekend, working with our amazing volunteer immunisation nurses who will be administering free whooping cough vaccines for eligible pregnant women & their partners. We will also be giving away immunisation information packs, fundraising for whooping cough research, have an expert giving a talk on immunisation each day.
