THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe storm warning for parts of southeast Queensland as multiple storm cells begin tracking northeast across the region. As at 3pm, the Bureau warned of several severe storms on the radar, with one potentially hitting parts of the Scenic Rim, and the other affecting the Somerset Region.... The warning stated the storms could produce damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain. More storms are forming west of Ipswich but there are no further warnings at this stage.

With funding support through the Queensland Governments Skilling Queenslanders for Work program we are offering 20 weeks full-time paid employment for 12 unemployed people who are keen to kick start their careers in Hospitality. Applicants should be aged 15 or older (mature aged applicants seeking a fresh start will also be considered), have been unemployed ...for a period of six months and not previously obtained a Certificate in Hospitality. The 12 successful applicants will be a part of a productive team working in our community café and kitchen catering at movie nights and other community events and functions; plus preparing pre-cooked meals which are given to needy people across Ipswich. Successful applicants will receive formal training to receive a Certificate I in Hospitality while gaining experience in a vast variety of hospitality positions such as front of house, Barista and café, Back of house, Catering events and functions, Commercial cooking as well as short order cooking plus much more. With funding support through the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work program this project will provide 20 weeks full-time paid employment, together with certified training in Constr...uction. Applicants should be aged 15 or older (mature aged applicants seeking a fresh start will also be considered), have been unemployed for a period of six months or longer and be keen to start a career. As a member of our SQW Construction team you will get hands-on experience in a variety of construction trades including carpentry, concreting, landscaping, electrical and more as well as formal training to receive a Certificate I in Construction. You will be given mentoring and support through out your 20 weeks to transition in to employment after you have completed your traineeship.
