13.01.2022 Through creating, by following instructions, Cubs (8-11yrs) gain confidence in their own capabilities. Little successes go a long way. Learn by doing. Learn by making mistakes. Best of all, last night we got to eat our creations.
12.01.2022 Our cubs (8-11yr) focused on the environment tonight. - Why do we recycle? To not waste products and to make new things with the recycle, like arms and hands for kids - What do you think makes people litter? People are lazy and don’t use bins and don’t care... - Where do you think we should go to look for litter to collect? The beach to protect the sea life Were just a few of the topics we talked about before we set off to start our mission of picking up other ‘lazy peoples’ rubbish and sorting it as we go. Loved watching the Patrol Leader and Assistant PL keep their patrol together and safe.
11.01.2022 Use your ‘ticket to play’ to join scouts!!
09.01.2022 5 scouts (11-15yrs) had to organise and run two games each last night. It’s very encouraging seeing these scouts step up and out of their comfort zones to lead and start off with their public speaking especially in such a large unit. Winning
08.01.2022 Our Cubs are all go! Halloween activities tonight.
07.01.2022 We sent a Patrol to this annual camp under very different conditions this year, but it was still a great camp for our scouts. Scout’s had to construct a dining shelter and set up camps, cook meals, earn points with general knowledge all with out any help from adults. How awesome and capable are these 11-14yr olds when given the chance!!!
05.01.2022 Taking responsibilities, supporting each other and facing our fears with courage! That’s scouting
04.01.2022 Our cubs had a great day at the regional DYB (Do your best) Day. Our new patrol worked really well together as they start to discover each other’s strengths and weaknesses in different situations.
04.01.2022 Congratulations to this little Joey, who has just been awarded the Joey Promise Badge tonight. Along with many other achievements, One of the things this Joey did was, he brought to the attention of his peers the need for help in our community by raising awareness and organising donations for ‘ Cup of Kindness’ based here in Ulverstone. The peak award in the Joey section. BRAVO
03.01.2022 Another night where the scout’s were challenged and loved it!!! We linked up a Cub and invested another Youth into our unit. Only 4 spots left in our scout section before we create a waiting list.
02.01.2022 The last of the old program badges to be handed out. We’re starting off on the new scouting program in term 4 for the joey and cub units. New program, new badges!!
01.01.2022 Another trip to Cradle Mt. We enjoy watching the appreciation the youths have of nature, even if we’re facing the colder elements of nature!! Packing their gear, cooking their own meals, tidying up after themselves and heaps of fun with fellow scouts in the mean time. Gotta love scouting!!
