18.01.2022 The Vice-Chancellor contacted students last night to outline measures the University is taking to implement social distancing designed to support a broader campaign to manage the spread of Covid-19. UMSU is managing the implementation of a range of social distancing measures to support student welfare, and the decisions of the University. For affiliated Clubs and Societies this means that UMSU is implementing the cancellation, postponement or suspension of all club activitie...s commencing Wednesday March 18. Club events have been deemed to be non-essential by both UMSU and the University consistent with government directives. In the first instance, UMSU is putting these measures in place until April 20, and we will communicate again as, and when, this advice is updated. We also understand that this is a difficult and stressful time for you. We encourage you to check in on each other, and to continue to monitor and comply with public health advice. Additional information is available on the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services (https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus) and Australian Government Department of Health (https://www.health.gov.au/) websites. Keep an eye on the UMSU (https://umsu.unimelb.edu.au/news/events-calendar/) website and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/UMSUunimelb/) for any updates, follow the advice on The University of Melbourne's website (https://www.unimelb.edu.au/coronavirus), and if your studies are being directly impacted please remember that you can reach out to UMSU Advocacy (https://umsu.unimelb.edu.au/support/advocacy/contact/) for advice and assistance. Take care. Clubs will be back soon!
