24.01.2022 Four days until Chilli Con Carnage is Live on all digital platforms!!!! To get you cool cats keen we will be hitting you with four fun facts about the album over the next four days! Fun Fact #1 We have re-recorded One of our older originals The Possum that Got Through the Flue for Chilli Con Carnage (you can listen to the version from our live recording via the link below) and it's based on a true story! 18.01.2022 2 days till the album launches! Tune into ABC radio today at around 3:45 to hear some more fun facts about the album and to get a sneak peek of one of the tunes before Sunday!!!! Your 3rd fun fact about the album is that Sasha’s artwork features an Easter egg that represents each song on the album! If you know some of our original tunes see if you can name all of the Easter eggs in the comments below!!! Hint, there are 11 tunes/Easter eggs!!!

Today's fun fact is that one of the songs (We'll let you try and figure out which) on the album started as Gus trying to reharmonize Jim Croce's Bad Bad Leeroy Brown! It then evolved into vastly different sounding tune!!

Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Adam has been surrounded by music since an early age. Picking up his first instrument (piano) at age eleven and then transitioning to trombone a few years later he has been playing since. How did you get your nickname? The nickname 'Trombone Snorty' came from a play on... the well known jazz/hip-hop artist 'Trombone Shorty' except being 6'5" I am hardly short... Star Sign? Leo (just) Favourite TV Theme Song? 06.01.2022 This weeks profile is on our trumpet boio Dave! David attended the UTAS Conservatorium from 2012 to 2015 in which time he completed a Bachelor of Music in contemporary trumpet. As well as playing in Uncle Gus and The Rimshots, Dave also play with local gypsy punk band The Lawless Quartet and a couple of jazz groups. How did you get your nickname? G’dale always existed in the ether but he chose to take over my body, and is largely regretting that decision.... Star Sign? Libra Favourite TV Theme Song? Gator Boys Favourite Drink? Knock out gas Favourite thing about being in the band? I have been in the band for 3 years and no one has complained about the smell. except Mat.. and Adam and Tom.. hold on let me rethink this one.

04.01.2022 The Album is done and it will be in your ears in just 2 weeks! We have a huge amount of people to thank (and we will do an extended post on this upon release date) but a huge shout out to Gavin Wolfe for all his hard work mixing, Sasha Gavlek for her amazing artwork and our good friend Mangus who features on the album. We can't wait for you all to hear the album so make sure you cook some chilli and drink some passion pop while you listen to the album on September 27!!! Till then, Keep Your Passion Poppin'

03.01.2022 We are a couple of days late on our weekly profile sorry! We have been working on something behind the scenes for you all - hopefully we will have an update soon! Anyways, here’s your Uncle! Gus Leighton is a 24 year old saxophonist, composer, arranger and tutor based in Hobart, Tasmania. Through work with his main ensembles (Uncle Gus and The Rimshots, The Gus Leighton Quartet and The Glass 1/2 Fools) and as a regular face on the Hobart music scene, Gus is making a name for... himself as a hardworking, passionate musician who brings unbridled energy and enthusiasm to any project he is involved in. Gus is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania and is proud to be a representative artist of Bari Woodwind Inc. and Syos Saxophone Mouthpieces How did you get your nickname? I am very lucky to be the Uncle of two beautiful girls named Adelaide and Matilda, however, people have been calling me Uncle since before they were born. I'm not entirely sure why, but hey, I love being an uncle! Star Sign? Scorpio Favourite TV Theme Song? It’s a pretty close tie between Fairly Odd Parents and The OG Pokemans theme song. Also, in West Philadelphia born and raised....... Favourite Drink? My heart says Passion Pop but 9 times out of 10 my stomach regrets that decision and usually, it is Water, Tea and Pepsi Max (or an odd combination of the three) that saves me. Favourite song we play in Uncle Gus and The Rimshots? It’s pretty close between Barnyard Boogie and Caldonia. But I’m also a sucker for the good ol’ Tennessee Waltz. Favourite word? Spelunking If you had a superpower what would it be? I would want some Avatar powers, control over the elements would be awesome. Favourite thing about being in the band? My favourite thing about being in Uncle Gus and The Rimshots is working so closely with such a great group of people - Music isn't worth playing unless you are performing alongside your best friends.

I play a shiny red guitar in Uncle Gus and the Rimshots! ... How did you get your nickname? I have a piece of gear built by a brand called Bigdog. Apparently that was a good fit... Star Sign? Scorpio Favourite TV Theme? Hey its Franklin Favourite Drink? I never say no to a cold Boags Red Favourite song we play in Uncle Gus and The Rimshots?
