23.01.2022 Talk to a mediator before separating or as soon as you separate. Make provisions for the children, their care, time spent, be informed. You will always be connected through these children.

17.01.2022 Child Inclusive Mediation brings the childs voice into the mediation in reaching good decisions for their future living arrangements. It is different to parenting mediation that is designed to assist parents reach these decisions but without the childs direct input. The Child Inclusive model is important as it helps separating parents to focus on the best interests of their children, helping to view parenting issues through the childs eyes.

07.01.2022 There is no mastery without feedback. But its hard. Not everyone that gives us feedback is skilled at delivering it in a meaningful way. And, were not alway...s open to hearing it. This checklist has really helped me over the years. My mantra for receiving feedback: Be brave. Listen. You can take whats helpful and leave the rest. My mantra for giving feedback: Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind. Stay brave, awkward, and kind, friends. #daretolead Theres a free download of the checklist on brenebrown.com

05.01.2022 Louise Miller - Hoffman explains this so well

05.01.2022 Take a moment to read and be aware of how children may react, they do not always have the words to say how they are feeling, we need to be diligent with our attention

01.01.2022 Parents underestimate the impact of their conflict on their children. We have all been uncomfortable around people in conflict, people who are being disrespectful or abusive to each other. Today is RUOK day. In my counselling work I often check in with clients on how they are travelling; it can be a suicide check. Yesterday I was deeply saddened when I watched a video on safe planning with a teenager. A teenager thinking about suicide. This teenager had suicidal thoughts wh...en she heard her parent arguing, screaming at each other! Her way out was to remove herself from the situation, perhaps even permanently. Parents protect your children, they are watching and listening to your every word and move, particularly your body language. Get help with how to manage communication in your relationship, even if the relationship is ending, and keep children and parenting separate. As a parent, you are a childs rock of stability and this type of conflict can affect them forever, even in extreme leading to suicide.

01.01.2022 I agree 10 minutes reflection, even 5 helps you identify areas for improvement and acknowledge what you did well and best of all separate from your work, you do not need to carry it with you.
