21.01.2022 Say What? A Holden with a Nissan engine??? That's what we all thought back in 1986 when the then new VL Commodore hit the Holden showrooms. Powered by a Japanese engine most thought, including myself, that this was Holden heresy. But if there is one lesson life will teach you, hindsight comes easily, foresight is very hard to obtain. The GMH engineers were bloody brilliant in switching the old "Blue" engine for the Nissan power-plant - it was, quite literally, a masterstroke.... And so too was the VL with its new "donk". Powerful, flexible, tuneable, reliable, indestructible. So confident were the Holden engineers with their choice of engine that they decided to bolt a Garrett Turbocharger on the side, pushing the already stellar performance of the straight six into V8 conquering territory. In fact, the ONLY reason you would want a V8 VL "Commy" would be if you were towing - and needed the extra torque. For every other occasion - the turbo VL was the pick. So successful was the VL that, as they became cheaper on the second hand car market, they also became the choice of modifiers, street racers and your run-of-the-mill hoon. Good examples are rare. Unmodified examples very rare. Police Interceptors in this sort of condition are a real find. Thankfully Allison and her husband appreciated the heritage of their vehicle, and it went from "daily drive" to "show special" - and what a special it is!! See more

18.01.2022 There are a lot of things that played a part in the success of Qantas. Arguably the biggest car-based contribution came from a 1919 Model-T Ford, that paved the way for the creation of what would become the nations official overseas carrier. In this video, we discuss just a few of the exhibits on display at the Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach, Central Queensland. A 5 Star experience you should not miss out on.

17.01.2022 Some eye-wateringly good sheet metal on display at the Coffee & Cars at Stones Corner, Queensland.

16.01.2022 One of the least known cars to tackle Aussie roads was the Lloyd-Hartnett 2-Stroke Air Cooled Kombi. We had the opportunity to discuss the car with Neil Joiner, curator of the Trafalgar Holden Museum, to discover a little of the cars history. And remember - please Subscribe to the channel - we would greatly appreciate it!!

15.01.2022 The Abarth 124 Spider has far more Italian content than I thought. Here I interview Cameron and get his thoughts on ownership after having the car for over 6 months...

09.01.2022 What better way to celebrate Australia Day than chat with Robert about his Fiat 501C - made specifically for the "Colonies" such as Australia - where European cars were fitted with wider axles so they could stay in the ruts created by the Model-T Ford. Please subscribe to our YouTube channel.

05.01.2022 Not often you get the opportunity to purchase a car over 100 years old...

01.01.2022 Would you buy a car for $500? If you did, would you consider driving it around Australia? We take the $500 "Wang" for its first road trip - Gold Coast to Byron Bay. It made it!

01.01.2022 The TT36 Concept Torana is magnificent. If this car was given "the nod" to go into production, we think cars would still be manufactured in Australia - and perhaps exported throughout the world. What do you think?
