12.01.2022 Wow had the pleasure of taking Stuart and 11yo Joe on a half day introduction to fly fishing and stalking trout . Water was a little high so we Euro nymph for a... while for a few taps no hookups so replaced dropper with a dry fly and proceeded to catch fish. Joe was a natural landing 6 good fish and Stuart 5 fish . Joe's first fish that took the dry was around 2lbs was lost as I attempted to net her. 07.01.2022 Great Spring sight fishing in Tassie - right now! Come on down before the World Fly Fishing Championships 2019 in the first week of December and have a ball - i...n our case have a fish! The lake margins are fishing really well, with quality fish caught in just a few centimetres of water, chasing frogs, tadpoles and anything else they can find in these freshly flooded edges. Unweighted Woolly Buggers, Fur Flies, nymphs and Mrs Simpsons all working well and the good news is: hardly anybody around at present. Not only that, but we have had some good rains across the eastern half lately, so as well as Woods Lake, Penstock, Arthurs Lake, Lake Echo, 19 Lagoons in the highlands, Lake Leake & Tooms in the east are firing up with rising water levels. On top of that we are starting to get reports of clients picking up fish on dry flies already in some of the lowlands waters. YES the MAYFLY have arrived!!
