Gabriele started making candles, because her spiritual mentor guided her in that direction to create them. Gabriele taught herself how to make candles. Once she had learnt how to make them, she fell in love with making candles. Gabriele gets great pleasure seeing her clients enjoying the candles which brings her great joy. To choose a candle you smell them, which ever smell you are attracted t...o, that is the one for you. 18.01.2022 Whats new in store this week? Eco & Eco products: Ecological & Economical Household Products Handmade in Western Australia... The concept of producing cleaning solutions that are more environmentally sound is increasingly important in todays world. In 2018 Andrea Bird decided that using the commercially available laundry powders was something to be reconsidered. This, in turn, inspired her to develop her own solution. This solution not only resulted in a very effective laundry powder, it also proved to be exceptionally economical to use. The result was the Eco&Eco Laundry Powder. Following on from this, she quickly developed a pre-wash spray to assist in removing those ingrained stains. Inspired, she then added a glass cleaner to the range, then a scouring powder and a spray & wipe general purpose cleaner. Furthermore, this has blossomed into a number of other cleaning solutions and the addition of some personal grooming products. The ethos behind Eco&Eco is that of providing effective products that are kind to the environment and economical for the household budget. 11.01.2022 Everyone knows Uniquely Toodyay is the home to many local producers, artisans & businesses. Each fortnight I will be talking about each individual producer, and what they do and what is unique about them. First one for the fortnight is Magz Glass. What goes into making a plate is quite intriguing. Once the colours are chosen, the glass can go in the kiln up to 3 or 4 times depending on how many colours there are in a plate. It can be quiet time consuming. The finished product is a great outcome. All those lovely products. Alot of care and patience goes into each individual piece and all made by hand.

07.01.2022 The person from Uniquely this week is Geoff. He does wood turning. He is also new to the shop. Geoff started wood turning in 2002, when his son started turning wood at school. Geoff decided to have ago as well, and discovered he had a natural talent for wood turning. Geoff gets his wood from his property or his neighbours. The wood he uses are she oak, wattle, hakea, jarrah, marri and other eucalypts. Geoff turns wood at green wood rough stage. Then he lets the pieces season ...abit, to get rid of stresses as the wood dries, and then completes the turning, to a final thickness, and then finishes by sanding. At the sanding stage it is quite dusty so have to be careful. Finally he polishes his work with natural oils and waxes. If you use the bowls, for food make sure you use dry food because the moisture from food can damage the wood, unless you not storing food . The wooden bowl are NOT mirowave , oven disherwasher safe.
