23.01.2022 Who's afraid of the heat? The forecast for Sunday is 42 degrees. We'll be meeting in the church (rather than the hall) for the first time for months and the aircon works very well. So see you Sunday at 10 am.

15.01.2022 Well, here's one we prepared earlier in this on-again, off-again week. With a guest appearance by Millie the Cat. We won't be meeting in the church building this Sunday but we are still the church. See you November 29 in the church building. https://youtu.be/-snMmfOezCQ
08.01.2022 So of course there will be no service in the church this Sunday due to 'homestay'. But keep a watch here for a link to church at home. Let's pray for each other during this time. 'May the Lord bless you and keep you...'

06.01.2022 Some come to spirituality with a compartmentalized understanding of the whole of life Morning prayer. Walk in nature amongst the trees. Spiritual...ity this week? Done! Our faith journey is not simply a piece of puzzle that we drop into our jigsaw of life. The Great Commandments encompass living every moment, every day, every action, everywhere, that is, the whole of life in/through/with the transformative Wisdom of God. Following Jesus’ Way is a commitment to abundant life, choosing to seek God’s wisdom in all aspects of life, through inner being, to outward expression. This is our calling. Meditating on these commandments offers a way of inside/outside reflection: How am I loving? How am I being? How am I thinking? How am I doing? Am I loving unconditionally with grace without criticism or critique? Am I being at peace within and shining that light to the world? Am I thinking with clarity to benefit and support God’s creation, allowing wisdom to inform my questions, learnings and decisions, perceiving without preconceptions or allowing fear to block new ways forwards? Am I acting with kindliness and gentle care that creates a safer, welcoming and helpful space where life flourishes, restores and renews. Rev Anne Hewitt A quote often attributed to John Wesley: Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can. Matthew 22: 36-40
04.01.2022 What the world needs now is love sweet love, It’s the only thing that there's just too little of, What the world needs now is love sweet love, No, not just for ...some but for everyone. Jackie DeShannon first sang Burt Bacharach and David Hal’s song in 1965. It is a song that has lasted the test of time, not just through covers and remakes not only because Bacharach wrote a catchy tune, but because the sentiment is important the world always needs more love not just for some but everyone. One day a lawyer asked Jesus which of the commandments he considered the most important. Jesus answer was simple and challenging. The first commandment for the people of God is to love God with our whole being, then Jesus spoke of a second and closely related commandment to love ourselves and our neighbours. We know from personal experience and reflection that these commandments are challenging, but we also know the value and importance influence love has in our lives and our world. When we can focus on the Divine we are more centred, when we love ourselves we are more content and our commitment to God and our love of self enables us to love our neighbours. As followers of Christ we dare to love ourselves and our neighbours because God first loved us.
