21.01.2022 65 Roses Day A day that Cystic Fibrosis is promoted to raise awareness and funds for people living with CF. We have supported this day every year for the last 6 years with two friends who have children with Cystic Fibrosis. On Friday 24th May it is 65 Roses Day. We will be selling Roses again to help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis. I am excited to say that this year we will be selling roses at the new Cool Eats Café!... 18.01.2022 Little Laundry Renovation... We utilised what's usually dead space on top of the overhead cabinets by taking them through to the ceiling. This not only maximises storage space but also means not having to worry about dust settling on top of the cabinets. 17.01.2022 To some it may just be another photo ...but to me this photo represents so much... Apart from the obvious fact that I can pick ridiculously good drinks As most of you know each year, on the last Friday in May is 65 Roses Day. A day where we help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis. In previous years we covered the City of Mandurah in Roses. Unfortunately this year things look a little different... with the Coronavirus upon us we were unable to prepare roses, hold a fundraising... event, sell within local schools, have businesses sell them on their counters or promote at children's sporting events. This photo was taken on 65 Roses Day 2019. Oh how much has changed since then. It reflects on a time where the simple act of going out with friends to celebrate was easy. Where businesses were open and a typical Friday night in Mandurah where the streets were filled with people celebrating the end of a hectic week at work. But perspective is the only upside to a pandemic. So as restrictions are slowly lifted may we continue to implement life lessons learnt from our time during the outbreak into our everyday living and think of those with CF and other immunocompromised families and what they deal with each day that we, as the general public, only understood during the pandemic: Being forced to have time away from our loved ones, yet finding alternative ways to keep in contact Being mindful of every surface we touch, every cough, every sneeze, every sniffle and wondering how quickly we can reach for the sanitiser or sink to wash our hands Being able to control only what we know and taking things one step at a time ....and most importantly.... 05.01.2022 65 Roses Day 2019 has been a successful one. With a total of $6000 raised (triple last years amount) we are overwhelmed by the generosity and support within the community and local businesses involved this year. Whilst the dollar value is one to celebrate, the greatest achievement is the awareness of Cystic Fibrosis within the Mandurah Community. Looking back on previous years to now and seeing just how far the awareness has spread of this devastating, life shortening disease... has been nothing short of amazing. Mandurah and surrounding areas was covered in roses on Friday and none of this would have been possible without the help and support of businesses and individuals involved. We all have our own busy lives, filled with our different schedules and commitments. Our businesses and workplaces may not necessarily align or have anything in common.
