24.01.2022 Audiologists constantly make decisions to best serve their clients. To explore the decision making of audiologists providing hearing aids to older clients, we would value 10-15 minutes of your time to answer a brief anonymous survey. For more information and survey access click HERE This project has received ethics approval from the University of Melbourne Human Research Ethics Committee (ID 1852204.1) and funding from the Melbourne School of Health Sciences.... https://melbourneuni.au1.qualtrics.com//form/SV_6spg9YJhme

14.01.2022 Very proud of the graduating cohort of 2018. Congratulations.

11.01.2022 In 2016 The University of Melbourne Audiology Clinical team set-up a much-needed Audiology service at the Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC) in Phenom Penh, Cambodia. The service was established to ensure locally trained staff were able to conduct accurate hearing tests used by the ENT surgeons for pre and post-operative assessments. CSC provides medical services free of charge to patients who would otherwise be unable to afford treatment, and who often travel long distances to... the hospital, some from neighbouring countries. Regular trips and ongoing monitoring using teleaudiology of the audiological services by UOM has ensured high quality ENT management and care for patients attending the CSC. In 2018, we now have an established program with at least three trips per year, with four students and two staff members. Clinical services now include hearing aid fittings and on the latest trip, a paediatric service was established. All students in the Master of Clinical Audiology have an opportunity to contribute to this program where the teleaudiology component is a timetabled clinical placement. These trips are fantastic opportunities to promote interprofessional learning and inspire students and staff to make an important contribution to global healthcare. See more

11.01.2022 The Melbourne School of Health Sciences Graduate Research Colloquium is an annual event which aims to bring together graduate research students across all departments within the MSHS, to showcase their work to other graduate research students and staff across the school. Audiology was highly successful, winning 4 awards across seven categories. Congratulations to Siobhan McGinnity for Outstanding poster presentation, Lauren Story for Outstanding Oral presentation and Donella Chisari and Grace Nixon for winning the People's Choice awards in their categories.
