23.01.2022 4/7 wins over the weekend for the Bees. We faced up to Parramatta District Cricket Club on Saturday in NSW Premier Cricket, with First Grade going down at David Phillips South. Jack Attenborough scored his maiden First Grade hundred, assisted by fellow opener Suffan Hassan (67) to help the Bees to 244. The best bowler was Hayden McLean (2/49). First Grade showed up on Sunday for Round 7 of the Kingsgrove Sports T20 Cup, with Dan Christian belting 56 from 36 and Chris Tremain ...with 26 from 19. Hayden McLean claimed 3/24 (3.1) whilst Chris Tremain, Djali Bloomfield and Adrian Isherwood all picked up 2 each. The Bees too good. Second Grade were at Old Kings Oval and posted 178, Parramatta chasing it 6 down. Sutha with 35 and 2 wickets. Third Grade could only manage 138 at David Phillips North, with Rhys Burinaga scoring 51. Parramatta passed our total 7 down. Fourth Grade went down to the wire, with Parramatta falling 5 runs short in a nail biter. An outstanding batting effort from Nik Tsoukalas (75), Jack Roach (30) and Athyban Kumanan (23*) powered the Bees to 234 following a steady opening construction from Anshul, Nirm and Arunav. The Bees showed serious resilience to take the last 7 wickets for just 79, completing Parramatta’s collapse. 6 points. Fifth Grade bounced back from St George to roll Parramatta for just 84 thanks to Jack Hardwicke-Owen’s incredible 6/18. Shubham Kaushik led the Bees to victory with his 42. Metro Cup were washed out last week but the defending Premiers began with a bang - defeating Sydney Uni at David Phillips North on Sunday. Oliver Sissian-Turnbull claimed 3/12, and Don Dasanayake 3/14 set the Bees a target of 199. Club legend Barr-Turn Bowie began the season with a great 79, backed up by Shashank (39) and Dinuk (33). Well done Metro! First and Second Grade face Sydney Cricket Club whilst Third Grade and below take on Bankstown District Cricket Club next week. #gothebees

06.01.2022 Five wins, a draw, and two losses over a packed weekend of cricket. Our First Grade side fell well short of Sydney Cricket Club 399 at David Phillips South, but recovered with a quick turnaround to set a competition record of 265 in a T20 against Easts Dolphins on Sunday. Jack Attenborough’s 113 from 61 balls is a club record, with backup from Tom Scoble (66 from 28). Dan Christian (30 from 14) and Tom Byrnes (23* from 7) also chipped in for our record breaking total.... Our bowlers made short work of Easts who could only manage half our total. Adrian Isherwood (3/19) and Dan Christian (2/12) the pick of the bowlers. Our PG’s side were the second loss of the weekend, having their total chased down after 19 overs. Annay Chauhan top scored with 52* from 46. Second Grade batted into Day 2 and got up to 360 thanks to Tom Byrnes (53* from 24) and Declan White (39* from 26) who added to Annay Chauhan’s 101 and Will Wolter’s 52. Ethan Jamieson claimed 3 wickets, match drawn. Third Grade claimed their first win after losing by 3 wickets in Round’s 2&3. The Bees rolled Sydney for 154 thanks to Aaron Crofts (3/43), Vivek Kashyap (2/23) and Will Calov (2/27). Rohan Indap (71) and Ridham Vadalia (44*) completed a successful chase. Fourth Grade started slow at Ryde Oval, with five starts, but managed 221 and defended it successfully. Early wickets forced Sydney 4/29, including a Gavin Ho screamer, and eventually bowled out for 174 thanks to Mitchell Law (3/49), Anshul Baruah (2/26) and Akash Biradar (2/27). Fifth Grade claimed 7 points comfortably thanks to Shubham Kaushik’s 6/20. Sydney could only manage 140, and was chased by Fionn Geraghty (73) and Will Cameron (36*). Metro Cup made short work of yet another opposition, this time chasing Gordon District Cricket Club’s 188 just one wicket down. Vibhu Karthikeyan claimed 4/26 and the chase was completed by Daniel Siu (78*) and Ben Coates-Grayson (54*). #gothebees

According to our statisticians, the 288 run partnership with Suffan Hassan has overthrown the second wicket club record of 253 in First Grade, set by former Test opener Michael Slater and Greg Livingstone. 04.01.2022 ROUND 1 RESULTS An unfortunate start to the season for First & Second Grade, both going down to Bankstown District Cricket Club on Saturday in Round 1. Congratulations to two new Bees who made their club debuts, Adrian Isherwood and Suffan Hassan in First Grade.... First Grade opened their season at Bankstown Oval and batted first, reaching 9/181 with half centuries from Adrian Isherwood (61) and Jack Attenborough (54). Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Bankstown passed 181 four down. Second Grade commenced their season at home and also batted first, with opener Will Wolter passing fifty (71) and Green Shielder Nick Everitt managing 41 towards the end of the innings, constructing a total of 210 at David Phillips South. A wicketless innings with the ball saw Bankstown pass 210 none down. Congratulations to club Second Grade debutants David Barber, Annay Chauhan, Ethan Jamieson and Nick Everitt. We face Western Suburbs District Cricket Club in Round 2. #gothebees

First Grade are at David Phillips South, adjacent to Fourth Grade on David Phillips North. Second Grade travel away to Birchgrove Oval, and Third Grade are venturing to Kelso Park North. ... Gilkesy put on 288 runs with Suffan Hassan (who also scored 111) for the second wicket partnership. Congratulations to both Bees.
