After the disappointment of Rally Australia being cancelled last year... he has been training very hard to build his strength to be consistent throughout the event. Our aim for him is to get through the whole rally and build his speed as the rally unfolds. With Bernie Webb calling the pacenotes his experience will be a big plus. 10.01.2022 Victorian Hill Climb Championship Drivers Blurbs Todays Profile:- Name : Ian Grinter... Class : Under 1600cc Improved Production Winner 2019 Car : 1963 Mini Ian is a retired Sign Writer by trade and has always been a fan of motorsport. One of Ians best automotive memories is when he worked on Horst Kwechs race team in 1970 and the team won the Under 2 litre Trans-Am Championship in the USA only to lose it later by protest. His home grown racing hero was Peter Brock. Ians first road car was a Ford Anglia, but more interestingly is his race car, a 1963 Mini which he purchased brand new then sold it a few years later, as fate would have it 28 years on he purchased it back and turned it into his pride and joy. In early 2011 Ian fractured his 2nd and 3rd vertebras after leaving the track at high speed and flipping his pride and joy at Bryant park, Not to let a little fender bending slow him down he was back later the next season sporting a new HANS device just in case. With a few accolades to his name and some very fond memories Ian was considering retiring from racing at the end of this season but with the events so far this year and being in isolation like so many, now cant wait to get out again and give it another crack.

01.01.2022 Troy has finished the Forest rally in 7th outright and receives an ovation from all his fellow competitors. Troy had battled severe fatigue and we almost withdr...ew him from the event this morning as his power steering was binding up once again. To not put a scratch on the car and be around a second per km off some very fast drivers yesterday is something he can be truly proud of. Thank you to all the Activ team especially Pat and Andrew for all you did over the weekend, Will Orders for building such an amazing car and working countless hours to make it happen. To the forest rally directing team and his doctors for allowing him to compete. Simon Ellis his co driver for doing such an incredible job and looking after him. Finally his grandparents for their support and encouragement to allow Troy to do what he loves so dearly. See more
