23.01.2022 ARE YOU BYOD READY?? In 2021, across years 1 to 4, any child with an iPad will be able to bring their device to school for learning purposes in the classroom as has occurred in 2020. Students in years 5 and 6 will be expected to bring a device to school for learning. This device can be either a laptop or an iPad in these year levels. Students in years 7 to 12 will be expected to bring a device to school for learning meeting the minimum requirements for their chosen subjects.... 22.01.2022 Sachin Nath of Year 11 was yesterday signed into a school based traineeship doing a Certificate II Retail through Business Success Group. Sachin will be hosted to Woolworths and will be working Tuesdays and Thursdays. He will be supported throughout the traineeship by Workways. Congratulations Sachin. 21.01.2022 YEAR 9 AND 10 CULTURE LESSONS To celebrate the end of term and to observe the custom of Otsukimi (a time to honour the beauty of the Autumn moon in Japan and celebrate with various dishes), the Years 9 and 10 students had the opportunity to try an Udon noodle dish, along with green tea icecream. The students really enjoyed the Soup and Noodles which also included Seaweed and Spring Onions. Green Tea Icecream was also a hit. ... The Year 10's also had the chance to try Yuzucha, a sweet drink which is made from Yuzu a lemon type citrus fruit. We are now planning what we will try next term in the warmer months.

We had a tasty BBQ, Crazy Socks and a surprise visit from our UCSC Croc (which you would have thought it was Beyoncé or some kind of famous TikToker doing an appearance at UCSC) the students went crazy for Croc . What a wonderful atmosphere it was! Stay tuned for more Crazy Sock pictures...
16.01.2022 The primary school gardening club has had its first crop of the term. All proceeds from the ‘stall’ in the staff room will go towards our next batch of seedlings. Great job Wednesday gardeners!

15.01.2022 SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS Congratulations to Zoe Livermore who has made the U15’s girls Queensland Squad for Hockey. She was one of 30 girls who were selected in the squad and who now has the opportunity to participate in a three day camp that is being held in Brisbane early January 2021. What a great accomplishment, congratulations Zoe.

We look forward to 2021 where we will have some exciting fundraising events running again. The AGM (Annual General Meeting) will be held on Tuesday 16 February, 2021 where all positions will become vacant including; P&C President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and fundraising positions. 14.01.2022 CRAZY HAIR DAY | FRIDAY 4 DECEMBER | WHOLE COLLEGE Good morning all, On Friday 4 December UCSC invites students to participate in CRAZY HAIR DAY!! Come to school with your most craziest, outrageous, colourful hairstyle!! Who will have the most creative style on the day??... To participate on the day we ask for a Gold coin donation which will go to the Primary and Secondary Student Councils, raising funds for sports equipment and extra seating for the College. We understand there will be some students that can't participate due to camps and excursions on the day. Let's have some fun for the last Friday of the schooling year!!

14.01.2022 DIPLOMA OF BUSINESS - CLASS OF 2020 After a year of study our Diploma of Business students recently graduated compete with cap and gowns. Olivia Sive received the special award of Best Student and Matthew Ioane received the Most Improved Student Award. Olivia is pictured with Wendy Gordon from Aurora who was the amazing trainer. 08.01.2022 Due to COVID-19 our Year 8 students were unable to do their festival event in Term 2. Our Japanese faculty decided to do a catch up event and provide opportunity for our students to try Yakisoba noodles. It was wonderful to see all students enjoying their food and have all attempted using chopsticks .

05.01.2022 ALL SCHOOLS BASKETBALL The boys have been working hard all year and have finally found their footing as a team, Mr Brown and I have been extremely impressed with the level of maturity and teamwork the boys have shown on and off the court. Many teachers from other schools and referees have commended our school team specifically on their positive communication with officials, referees and overall respecting the game. Day 1 results:... Game 1- We versed Corinda State High School with a tough loss 36-32! Game 2- We versed Cannon Hill Anglican College with our first WIN 45-26 Day 2- Friday 18th they have 2 games today: Game 1- Northlakes State school (**Live update - winning by 8 pts at haltime!! 05.01.2022 KOOL KIDS TRAINEES Year 10 students Shania Cruz, Jorja O’Hara and Jessica Bowden have all been successful in gaining a school based traineeship with Kool Kids. The girls will be completing a Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care and will be working at their centres one day a week. This is a 2 year traineeship with students required to work 750 hours over the 2 years. Shania will be working at Kool Kids Pacific Pines, Jorja will be working at Great Beginnings P...impama and Jessica will be working at Community Kids Ormeau. Their training will be done through Kool Kids Training College. Congratulations girls!! We wish you every success with your traineeships.
04.01.2022 This week, Our Year 7 students participated in virtual Geography lessons, through Microsoft Teams, run by South East Queensland Water The students looked at how SEQ has dealt with drought and climate change. They were then provided with scenarios for best water sources that could be developed based on economics, environmental needs and social acceptance.... Finally the students became Seqwater Water planners and debated and discussed the needs of South East Qld over the next 50 years with Climate change and population growth and what decisions should be made regarding water options.
