24.01.2022 2040 is coming to The ARTSLAB on Sunday 14 July afternoon - please join us for this important film and stay after for a discussion about what our local 2040 could look like! 2040 is a hybrid documentary feature film that deals with the horrors of climate change and human impact on the earth in a refreshingly positive way - by envisioning a prosperous future and a healed earth, achieved with the systems and technologies that are already available to us. A blueprint to reach a... healthy 2040, rather than the dystopia we are currently heading for. Award-winning director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film) embarks on a journey to explore what the future could look like if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet, and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream. Structured as a visual letter to his four-year-old daughter, Damon blends traditional documentary with dramatised sequences and high-end visual effects to create a vision board of how these solutions could regenerate the world for future generations. Bring your family and friends and join us at The ARTSLAB for this important film and a glimmer of hope for the future. Upper River Hall will be open from 2.30pm, the film will start at 3pm.
