Brisbane, Toowoomba, Dalby, Moonie, Westmar, St George. local IGA closes at 4pm today if you needed groceries/dinner for tonight. DONT FORGET- clinic coats, safety glasses/loops, name badges, appropriate clinic wear, long pants and long socks for males etc. 8:30am start tomorrow morning, please park on street. 20.01.2022 With a lot of us working from home and adjusting to new routines during the covid-19 pandemic, its easy to put aside our dental health. Here are a few tips to help maintain your oral health: Brush at least twice a day be sure to get those hard-to-reach spots Floss once a day this helps remove bacteria and plaque in places your brush cant reach ... Eat a well-balanced diet limit sticky, sugary snacks Limit frequency of snacking frequent snacking increases your risk of cavities Limit sugary drinks soft drink and fruit juices can harm tooth surfaces Drink plenty of water drink water with meals and between meals Avoid smoking smoking limits blood flow to your mouth, making it easier for bacteria to grow And remember, we are still open for emergencies.

19.01.2022 A shout out to our amazing dental team. Despite the current circumstances, we are still busy seeing emergency care patients to keep them out of hospital emergency departments, to free up space for the sick and unwell. Were still learning about the virus, but we definitely know its spread through things like mucus and saliva. These are things that dentists are intimately connected with Theres no social distancing when it comes to treating patients in dentistry. Please don...t forget about us, our service is essential too Thanks for your time and commitment Dr Lewis, Sean, Vanessa, Cheryl & Darryl. You are appreciated. -Maddie

19.01.2022 Hands up, who’s guilty of doing this? Germs in your mouth thrive off the sugar you eat. Don’t give it to them! It’s okay to snack once in awhile, just remember to rinse with water after snacking

18.01.2022 My all time favourite line.. I dont floss because it makes my gums bleed. When in fact, your gums may be bleeding because you dont floss regularly. If you dont floss after brushing, you miss cleaning 40% of the tooths surface. Happy Friday!

17.01.2022 Guess who’s back? Back again! Derek’s back! Tell your friends Dr Derek Lewis is returning in 2021 for yet another year of supervising! How lucky are we. I know the community is just as excited as the UQ team.

16.01.2022 Our students have finished up this week! All the best to them for the final year ahead. This group of students was our first group to ever witness St Georges Balonne river at its lowest and also in flood. Only 3 weeks ago you could walk across parts of the river. One photo below shows Dr Lewis snapping a shot of the riverbank while he is standing out where the water should be! What a difference 3 weeks and some beautiful rain can make.

16.01.2022 So where are they now? With 3 years of operation in the St George UQ Dental clinic, we have hosted over 50 students. After graduation, some head back home overseas to families, some stay in Australia and have been working all over Queensland and some have made their way back out west. 2018 and 2019 saw two of our UQ graduates accept positions in both Goondiwindi and St George. Congratulations Dr Bryan and Dr Fiona and thank you for practicing in rural towns. Our communities truly appreciate your support. All the best!

09.01.2022 A LITTLE INFO FROM BEHIND THE SCENES During this uneasy time, we would like to make our patients aware of the extra effort UQ Dental staff, Goondir staff and our Dental students are going to, to ensure our patients are entering a safe and germ free environment. We have always taken infection control very seriously in our clinic and follow all protocols and procedures to the highest of standard. We are committed to taking all precautions to ensure not only our staf...f are kept safe, but our patients who are still attending for emergency care remain healthy when visiting our clinic. This means we are going one step further to disinfect our public areas more often throughout the day, including our reception counter, waiting room chairs, door handles and stationery. At this stage we are still open for emergency care only. All other treatment will be cancelled so you can stay safe in the comfort of your own home. Thanks again for your support -Maddie
