23.01.2022 As your newly appointed publicity officer I will now be doing my hopefully weekly fishing report on the Urunga Noticeboard Facebook site as it has a larger audiance than this one. It will also be picked up from there by Vanessa Nugent for her 2BBB Community Information segment ... I will find out when she broadcasts that. I will provide a link to the post on this site. https://m.facebook.com/groups/803208803374096?view=permalink&id=1186163935078579

22.01.2022 Members are reminded that this Sunday 2nd August will be the scheduled Deep Sea Competition. Bit far out yet but Willy Weather wind prediction is looking pretty good and early swell height looking ok as well but not finalised yet.

22.01.2022 *SAVE THE DATE* Our end of season Christmas party is Sunday the 15th of December from 11am. Bring along a little present for the kids as Santa will be making a cameo appearance. Lunch and soft drinks are supplied and even a few sneaky kilos of prawns

21.01.2022 Something simple to help with your safety at sea. Marine Rescue NSW have an app that you can use to log in with. The app takes a few minutes to set up and has all your vessels details including a photo of your boat, radios etc onboard your vessel. It also has yours and a few other emergency contacts that they can ring if things go wrong. Once set up it takes less than one minute to fill out each trip with your depature point and destinstion, number of people on board, how man...y hours you will be at sea and a really cool optional "Track me for this journey" feature which will plot your location every half hour on their computer. This could make all the difference in helping Search and Rescue narrow down where to go looking for you if you go missing. I have found this app extremly good and have had VMR Coffs Harbour ring me a couple of times. Last Thursday morning they rang me after logging in just to make sure that I was aware of a very low tide that may affect my crossing of the river bar. Dont forget to log off because they will ring you if you haven't done so by your designated return time.

18.01.2022 A true inspiration and role model to all Australian's

17.01.2022 As per the recommendations of the government, Urunga Anglers Club is cancelling all Deep Sea and BRE&F competitions until further notice. Please stay safe and healthy in these difficult times. Regards

17.01.2022 *Public/Comunitee Announcement* The taps on the fish cleaning tables on Atherton Dr, Urunga have been removed and capped earlier this week. This has been performed by the Bellingen Shire Council in accordance with the current water restrictions in place. As recreational fishos and a recreational fishing club we tried our best to argue the case of both food health and safety standards but to no reward. At the present moment there is a cleaning table still in operation with ...fresh running water located next to the board walk in Urunga. We can only imagine the public backlash after an influx of fish frames/waste is placed into the area surrounding the new swimming lido area leading into the parks busy Summer/Christmas period ahead. 10.01.2022 During these uncertain and daunting times we are currently facing, the owners and staff here at NCBC would like to inform all our valued customers and the wider... community we are still OPEN & operating as per usual until notified otherwise... At a time when our elderly and fragile need to limit exposure and interaction via social distancing we would like to extend a FREE Pick-Up & Drop-Off service for customers whom would rather not travel to us. This means we can pick up and drop off your boat or motor and carry out routine services, repairs & installations as required in our workshop, whilst you stay in the safety and comfort of your home. This service is available to all people from Coffs Harbour to the North & Nambucca to our South and all places in-between. (Locations outside this area can be negotiated at an agreeable time that suits all involved). In-store we have already partaken in extra hygiene practices and precautions as per the governments recommendations. Hand sanitizer stations are located inside our showroom for everyone's use. Regular disinfecting of common area's where customers usually enter and gather. As well strict customer interactions and exposure to our technicians and there work-space is being enforced. Looking to the future... we wish to continue to offer you all the best marine service here on the Coffs Coast for years to come, so please continue to support us where possible, SHARE our Facebook & Instagram posts, Invite your friends to LIKE our page if they share a common interest in water sports, get the boat out and go for a cruise or fish - it is a great escape from the stress and mental fatigue we are all experiencing at the moment. And this message extends out to all small local businesses in these trying times. We trust you will stay safe and healthy in these testing times. - Sam, Dayne, Josh & Charlie

04.01.2022 Our Club Champion and Runner-up Champion Junior's for 2018-2019

04.01.2022 Not much news on the fishing front this week. I was out of area for a few days over weekend but doubt if many ventured out in the rain and wind. I think I was the only person to get to sea after previous weeks big swell and the onset of this weeks poor weather. Managed a couple of hours on Thursday morning with deckie Neil Hudson for four snapper and Neil got a 955grm Gold spot Pig Fish which is fairly big for this species. Edit: I will leave my previous comment there but it would appear that Neils fish is in fact a Foxfish ... never heard of it? me either until a Port Macquarie Angler identified it.... bugger, may have been a MNC record had we known.
