10.01.2022 ITS OFFICIAL! I will be running the @gcmarathon with a 20kg weight vest! Why the vest? I decided to wear the vest in honour of those brave men and women who have served for their countries and while I am not pro war, I do work alongside those courageous individuals who often return home scarred by what they’ve done/witnessed. This run is for them. The vest symbolises the heaviness of the issues they carry. I have about 2 months to prepare for this event, with at least 3 week...s of tapering, which leaves me with about one month of solid prep. It’s no secret, I was in a dark place today. All 5.5hrs of it. Despite having the skills to endure and push through the pain, the voices of doubt were incredibly loud and at times overwhelming. However, since 2001, 373 men and women have died on home soil due to suicide. Our battle is here at home! A tough run today of 15km with the weight vest in windy and rainy conditions.
