22.01.2022 DIMMA'S DYNASTY Congratulations to former Upwey-Tecoma junior Damian Hardwick on an incredible 3rd flag in 4 years as coach of the mighty Ricmond Tigers!

22.01.2022 We would like to wish our reigning Senior Best & Fairest winner Liam Beacom the best of luck for his debut with the Coffs Harbour Breakers AFNC today in the AFL North Coast competition. He has been named at Centre Half Back in his maiden outing. For those unaware, "Beacs" moved north a few weeks ago after securing a job in civil engineering with ARTC (Australian Rail Track Corporation). Unfortunately it's a double blow for the club as we also lose one of our trainers in hi...s partner Maddi Williams, who will join Liam up north around Christmas time. While it is always sad to lose quality UFTNC people like Liam and Maddi, we wish them all the best and look forward to having them back at Tigerland somewhere down the track.

21.01.2022 MEET OUR MEN'S FOOTBALL COACHING TEAM FOR SEASON 2021 We are very pleased to be able to unveil our Men's Football Coaching Team for 2021. This quartet will form the core of our Coaching Team, with various additional supports planned for certain aspects to maximise positive influences and outcomes. They will look to implement a modern, dynamic game plan built to stand up to the small and large grounds we will encounter in the Outer East competition. STUART HILL - Senior Coach ...(Playing) Wherever Stuart plays, leadership roles follow. He has held positions of leadership throughout his time in footy - from his younger years at Eastern Rangers, throughout his distinguished career at Norwood, and when playing representative footy for the EFL. His history includes being a backline & forwards coach, as well as his head coach of the footy program at Salesian College, where he teaches PE and Maths. Stuart made a huge impression on the playing group in the short amount of time season 2020 afforded him and is primed to take the club to the next level. WARRICK DICKSON - Senior Assistant & Match Day Coach We are delighted to have a highly-credentialed and experienced coach jump on board as our Senior Assistant and Match Day Coach for Season 2021. Warrick has Level 2 Coaching Accreditation and has held numerous roles including forward line and reserves coach at EFL Premier Division club Norwood, along with stints at Yarra Valley Old Boys and Chirnside Park FC. A terrific technical coach with an eye for detail, Waz will be a great addition to the coaching team and the senior group as a whole. JAMES MANNING - Senior Assistant & Reserves Match Day Coach We are wrapt to have James back at the club for 2021 after he impressed during the 2020 preseason. A secondary teacher with Bentleigh Secondary College Sports Academy, James provides a calm head and great teaching skills to complement his football knowledge. He has developed a fantastic rapport with the playing group in his short time with the club and we look forward to seeing him build on these relationships in 2021. MATT NICHOLSON - Reserves Coach (Playing) We are thrilled to have Matt embark on his coaching journey with our Reserves as Playing Coach. Matt joined us from Amateurs Club St Johns two years ago and quickly became entrenched at Tigerland. We have no doubt his coaching style will match his tough and uncompromising attack on the footy as a player. We look forward to seeing our Reserves side climb back up the ladder under the tutelage of Matt and James.

18.01.2022 Memories of Craig Pearson Just on 2 months ago the club lost former player Craig Pearson. With ongoing restrictions limiting our ability to reflect on his football life, club historian Terry Cormack along with Craigs long-time friends Peter Clay, Terry Moore and others compiled their thoughts and memories. 17.01.2022 AGM Postponed The Annual General Meeting of the Club scheduled for this Wednesday, 16/12/2020 will not proceed. The meeting will be postponed until February 2021 and a new date for the AGM will be communicated in the New Year.... It is felt that after the difficult year that we have all endured it would be more appropriate to hold the meeting in February and allow all the chance to reconnect with the Club once the 2021 pre season gets underway. Best regards Craig Waters President

16.01.2022 NEW MAJOR SPONSOR ALERT! We are thrilled to announce McDonalds Tecoma as a new major sponsor for the 2021 season! In a year where good news stories have been few and far between, the signing of a new major sponsor is a huge boost for the Club and will certainly help springboard us into the new season. Maccas Tecoma has been a terrific contributor to the community since opening in 2014. The restaurant has provided hundreds of jobs to young people in the area - for ...many, their first foray into the workforce. October 1st has seen Steve and Ainsley Shillington take over as the new owners of Maccas Tecoma and both are extremely excited to be involved with the Club and local community. For those not aware, Maccas Tecoma have recently started trading 24 hours 7 days a week. A great option for a coffee for those early risers. Terrific news for anyone who gets a craving for a cheeky cheeseburger at 2am in the morning! For those that are a little more tech-savvy, you can now also get your Maccas fix using Uber Eats or Menulog for the ultimate convenience. The team at Maccas Tecoma can’t wait to welcome the people of UTFNC into their restaurant. Let’s make sure we continue to support the local businesses that support us!

In a massive coup for the club, Senior Premiership Player and Life Member Steve Brotja will take the helm of this side. He brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent two years as Development Coach and Runner at Eastern Ranges U18 Girls P...rogram and one year as Assistant Coach looking after Eastern Ranges U18 Girls backline. 07.01.2022 STUART HILL TO TAKE THE REINS AS SENIOR COACH FOR 2021 & 2022 The Upwey-Tecoma Football Netball Club is excited to announce the appointment of Stuart Hill as playing Senior Coach for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.... Stuart joined the Club for the 2020 season as a playing assistant coach and key position backman from EFL Premier Division's Norwood Football Club, with the intention of developing his coaching credentials so that one day he could move into a senior coaching position. That day has now arrived. As a player, Stuart's honour roll includes multiple EFL Team of the Year and Interleague appearances, including two as captain. He was a member of Norwood's Team of the Decade, having also skippered the club and won a club B&F. In his younger years, he played with the Box Hill Hawks as well as representing Vic Metro. Over the course of this strange 2020 non-season, Stuart has quickly developed a love for the Club. He was a great support to departing coach Adam Parker, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the game and game styles, and has already formed strong relationships with the playing group. A Physical Education teacher at Salesian College, Stuart is eager to take on the challenges that lie ahead and to leave his mark on the Upwey-Tecoma Football Netball Club. Please join me in congratulating Stuart, his wife Whitney, and daughters Sloane and Kennedy on his appointment as coach of the mighty Tigers. Craig Waters President - UTFNC

03.01.2022 VIRTUAL CANTEEN is coming to Tigerland! There's no doubting that we've all missed our local footy this year. Thankfully, we can still get our canteen fix this year, thanks to the Click Frenzy Virtual Canteen campaign, launching this Thursday evening! ... This terrific initiative was designed to give clubs a much needed boost heading into the 2021 pre-season. 01.01.2022 Vale Craig Pearson It is with much sadness that the Club advises of the passing of Craig Piddles Pearson overnight at the Rosebud Hospital. Craig, a Life Member of the Club, was just 2 months short of his 64th birthday and had been battling lung cancer and various other issues over the last 18 months.... All at the Upwey Tecoma Football Netball Club would like to pass on their sympathy to Craig’s children Rebecca, Jack, Lisa & fiancé Robbie, Ashleigh & partner Tyler and his Grandchildren Tannisha, Emmanuel and Destiny and his brother Alan & wife Sherilyn. Craig and his family had hoped to have a function at the Club in early July for Craig to see a lot of his great Upwey friends one more time as his years growing up in Upwey and playing at our Club were some of his most cherished memories. Unfortunately that wasn’t possible due to current restrictions and therefore the Club will put together a further note in the next few days giving more details of Craig’s great achievements on and off the football field as no normal service or celebration of his life will be possible. Craig was much loved and will be sadly missed by all, especially his loving children and Grandchildren. May you rest in peace Pids. Craig Waters President

01.01.2022 FROM CHOSEN AVENUE TO ARDEN STREET We would like to extend our congratulations to UTNFC alumni David Noble on his appointment as the Senior Coach of the North Melbourne Football Club. David started his coaching career at Upwey-Tecoma in 1993, collecting the premiership in that year and the following year in 1994. ... Since then, David has steadily enhanced his reputation in footy holding roles at the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide Crows, before being a major part of the resurgence of Chris Fagan's Brisbane Lions as Football Manager. David joins a long list of Upwey-Tecoma people currently in the AFL system including Richmond premiership coach Damien Hardwick, Adelaide Captain Rory Sloane, North Melbourne’s Jaidyn Stephenson and Port Adelaide’s Sam Hayes (both of whom commenced their early football careers at Upwey) and Dave Carden who is an Assistant Coach in St Kilda’s Womens program. We wish David all the best and will closely follow the progress of the Kangaroos under David's leadership in 2021 and beyond.

This terrific initiative was designed to give clubs a much needed boost heading into the 2021 pre-season.
