22.01.2022 Applications are now open for the Graduate Certificate in the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, in our School of Psychological Science. The first of its kind in Australia, this part-time, online course is designed for working professionals who are looking to gain skills in the identification and assessment of Autism across the lifespan. 21.01.2022 Applications are now open for the Graduate Certificate in the Diagnosis and Assessment of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). The first of its kind in Australia, this part-time online course is designed for working health professionals who are looking to advance their career and gain the skills needed to assess and diagnose FASD. 13.01.2022 Last week our Andrew Sheridan lead a series of engagement activities for a group of Indigenous high-school students! The session was a great hit - we got to play with our Inverted Prism Goggles, test whether computers can tell how we feel, and saw lots of crazy facial distortion demos. The Emotional Wellbeing Lab at the UWA School of Psychological Science, directed by Associate Prof. Kristin Gainey, has scholarships available for new PhD students interested in studying emotional processes as they relate to wellbeing, depression, and anxiety. The scholarships are provided to work on a 5-year NIH-funded project focused on emotion regulation, which includes heart-rate variability assessment and ecological momenta...ry assessment. This position would be a particularly good fit for students who want to pursue the combined Masters of Clinical Psych/PhD program. Completing honours is always a pretty massive challenge but this year, it is fair to say, was like no other. We are super proud of you all! Senior Lecturer Dr Nic Badcock (with some of our fantastic post-grads) taught kids all about how we use EEG to see electricity in the brain - and even had a peek at some of the messages in kids brains!
