25.01.2022 Nigel, polymath and the sauna king of Derby. Working with Licht Architecture, his vision came to life with a floating sauna on a lake. With two black and white Scandinavian inspired buildings, a concept of boom and bust (that Derby has encountered over the years) and a metaphor for hot and cold. It challenges the preconceived notion of changing in an opaque room by including semi transparent Ampelite panels, posing the question that traditionally you enter a sauna nude, so wh...y do you need walls at all? The surrounding mountainous cliffs envelop you with a drama that contrasts the stillness you encounter once inside the wood-fired sauna. Sauna occupants enter through a gate into a private world that becomes their own. A contained area that removes all elements to focus on relaxation, stillness and immersion in the lake itself. With a combination of dry heat and steam, temperatures of up to 100 degrees are reached while alternating with cold plunges in the lake, invigorating and restoring every human sense. The therapeutic ritual is incredible. It challenges, surprises and leaves you longing for more.
25.01.2022 It was a gratifying experience to return to our client’s home. Valentine interiors + design was engaged to transform the space, reflecting an entertaining area with glamour and spark. With careful spatial planning, we were able to to increase the flow throughout the kitchen, while introducing light and an illusion of movement with reflective materials. The end result is one to be truly enjoyed with the striking fusion of form and function. ___________________________________...___ Design / Valentine interiors + design Photography / Loic Le Guilly
24.01.2022 Polytec, Puppy + Pod & Parcel...a great morning in the office today with Kim, discovering some new products (and welcoming our new staff member Baxter).
22.01.2022 Reigniting your cafe to reestablish rituals and restore connections is much more than just business as usual. Your cafe must find its voice and resonate with your tribe more than ever before. What will your place say to your people? 22.01.2022 Choosing the right people is a challenge. To have people that listen well, communicate, surprise and look beyond the obvious. To have people that make a difference and choose to have a positive impact on our community. I’m proud that Claire and Sarah have chosen to be a part of the Valentine interiors team. Jane

18.01.2022 What does home mean to us? My home is a place where I am completely content, to be my true self. My home is always constanta place to restore and reenergise. A place to breathe.... My home is my sanctuary filled with warmth, colour and light. My home is a place to escape from the world, feel safe and calm. A place to dream, a place to be inspired. Sarah

18.01.2022 While we focus on building and construction, we also assist in rebuilding lives. Valentine interiors + design is a proud supporter of Interplast. Inspired by the ambassador for the organisation, Turia Pitt, who survived a bushfire during an ultramarathon that burnt 65% of her body. Her incredible resilience and zest for life makes her a fabulous role model for the Australian community. If you would like to help support our programs and make memories of a lifetime, Interplast ...is running an extraordinary adventure with Turia Pitt on the iconic Larapinta Trail this September. On the five-day Larapinta Trek, you'll meet like-minded supporters, trek alongside Turia Pitt, explore the best of the Outback and raise funds for Interplast programs that repair bodies and rebuild lives. Every step you take will directly benefit individuals across 17 countries within the Asia Pacific region, providing them with access to timely and high quality surgical, medical and allied health services. Find more information and register today: https://inspiredadventures.com.au//interplast-larapinta-2/
18.01.2022 We like the challenge of spatial planning in a confined area. It's like a jigsaw puzzle, with the triumph you experience when placing the final pieces together. Design / Valentine interiors + design Photography / Loic Le Guilly
15.01.2022 A collection of natural materials paired with light, bright and crisp whites restores an element of joy back into everyday laundering.
15.01.2022 What does home mean to us? To me, home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling and sense of security. Home is a place I can surround myself with those I love and things that make me happy. Being with family or even just a cosy bed and the smell of a home cooked meal. ... Home welcomes you with open arms and stays with you always. Claire
15.01.2022 Moving forward with the right people beside me. Celebrating International Women's Day 2020.
12.01.2022 Rusted gates, earthy stone, intriguing artefacts and a touch of the extraordinary. It could only be Clemens Hill Vineyard. Our concept began with the iconic rusted gates, before weaving its way through each element of the quirky and artistic home. Its robust character and refined eccentricity captured by renowned designers and local craftspeople; Christopher Boots, Lindsey Wherrett and Interia. What began as a brief for a white bathroom became a celebration of considered mate...riality, unexpected detail and the workmanship of Glenn and Justyn. 11.01.2022 A single vision, to enmesh art and design into the client’s daily lives. A concept, larger than life and a place for reveries where moments are mused away. Working with Simon Ancher for pieces that twist and turn. A torched table resembling a guitar plectrum, a spinal wall sculpture and a vertical blackwood leaf form, allowing light to dance through the central void. Maria Gigney’s metal, grid like architecture is at once unobtrusive and yet strong. Our interior pays tribute ...to her considered style, weaving, interlocking and creating moments of pause. Black with rich, saturated ochre embracing the unicity of forms. Natural light teems through the space, expanding the landscape while heightening the differing lines. Trust and desire are fused together in the most arresting way. Interior design / Valentine Interiors Photography / Anjie Blair
10.01.2022 In the heart of Hobart, this 1930s Art Deco home was once adorned with a sense of elegance and touches of opulence. Our new interior preserves original elements while injecting a sense of flair and a contemporary twist. The final renovation pays tribute to an exciting and influential movement that celebrated modern life.
08.01.2022 Hip hip hooray, today we are celebrating our fifth birthday! We could say, 'phew we made it!' 50% of businesses won’t make five years. But, we are not there yet. The world has changed. No one can be sure what lies ahead. But, what we are sure of is the way we understand and connect with our clients. We will continue to embrace the unexpected and move through this phase as an even stronger force.
08.01.2022 What does home mean to us? Home is a place to hide away. A space that is uniquely ours. Full of laughter, home cooked meals and the dog curled up on couches. Home brings back childhood memories of fresh raspberries, scones with jam and cream, new born chicks, and Sunday nights with Walt Disney.... Home allows a safe haven to contemplate, rejuvenate and absorb our bushland views. A place to be heard and understood. Jane
08.01.2022 Balancing practicality with aesthetics is a priority for us. This can also be achieved within the smaller spaces of the home, such as a laundry. Lighter tones, clever shelving and a variety of plants can enhance the aesthetic appeal, while careful planning enables a functional space to easily move around in. 06.01.2022 Thank you Polytec for a fabulous day celebrating the Melbourne Cup at Elwick! Loads of fun, laughs and an absence of fascinators for the Valentine team (who struggled to make them look so fascinating...we need some tips).
06.01.2022 Sometimes all a kitchen needs is freshening up. By painting existing timber cabinetry, replacing cork flooring, adding lighting, splashback and handles, an incredible transformation has taken place while working within budget constraints. The central living space that was once dark and cramped is now light and airy with room to breathe. To see the original story prior to the final reveal, click through to the last photos...you might just be a little surprised! Photography / Loic Le Guilly
04.01.2022 There is a silent code from one business owner to another. It cannot be explained, it’s just one of those things. It could be the challenges. It could be the surprises, the wins or the losses. It may be the understanding of sacrifice that binds us. Whatever it may be, I’m thankful to have my tribe, my suppliers and the silent business owners beside me. Jane Valentine // owner of Valentine interiors + design
03.01.2022 Valentine interiors + design is still open. Today, our team will relocate from our city office to our home studios. Our understanding of people and the way they move and function in a space hasn’t changed. We will still be running our business via Zoom, FaceTime and phone consultations. Our remote clients have always worked this way, and through clear communication we have always been able to create a space that is uniquely theirs. We all have challenges ahead of us. Our pass...ion, determination and support for each other will carry us over this (rather large) hurdle. Until we come over the other side, please stay safe. Jane, Sarah + Claire
02.01.2022 Let’s talk about Sarah...our vivacious, hardworking designer. She is the queen of multitasking, after all, this comes naturally when you are raising twins. A social butterfly (and on that note, is a guru at social media too). She has an incredible obsession with shoes (of course you need a different pair for every outfit). Her love of art, fashion and jewellery weaves its way through her client wardrobe consultations. Sarah’s warmth, sense of fun and genuine way of interactin...g with people is a rarity. She’s caring, highly intuitive and loves leading us astray with directions (orienteering is not her forte). There is never a dull moment with Sarah around and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, you sure we are heading in the right direction Sarah?
02.01.2022 We are thrilled to welcome interior designer, Claire Bramich to our team. Claire’s strengths lie with commercial projects, after working for Crone Architects and Plus Architecture in Melbourne. Claire graduated from the University of Tasmania with the Interior Design highest achiever award. She is a guru in architectural drawing software and currently teaches Interior Design with Jane at Foundry in Hobart. Claire has a passion for art and drawing, while enjoying the outdoor...s at Boat Harbour, her own special place. Her outstanding communication skills, bubbly persona and meticulous work ethic is a perfect fit for Valentine interiors + design.
