24.01.2022 NEW PROPOSED SCHEDULE OUT SOON! Due to the unprecedented times we are in and to allay any concerns that may be circulating about next season’s calendar shortly we will be publicly posting the new proposed schedule that is expected to be run at Valvoline Raceway. The 2020/21 season will be the final seaon to be run at the Parramatta venue and as you will see it's a full calendar highlighted by 3 Australian Titles, 7 NSW Titles , a 22 round USC Championship, The USC Speedweek a...nd the USC Nationals to name a few. The season is scheduled to start on the 3rd October and run through until the final double header weekend where we will sadly say Goodbye to this iconic speedway venue that has created so many special memories. There are also a number of exciting plans which will play out during the season and be released at a later date. As exciting as the season looks, please be aware that sporting events will be governed by any limitations or restrictions that the Government deems necessary during the COVID-19 pandemic - naturally. After discussions with management they want to make sure that it is a very clear in the commitment from both Barry and Felicity Waldron to a season finale that honours Valvoline Raceway’s history and legacy as it deserves. Of course this is dependent on Government Legislation. The calendar will be subject to change and as the season gets closer and it is clearer on how the venue can conducted race events, discussions will take place with clubs as to the possible changes or make up will take place prior to any of the proposed race schedule. We hope to release this information this coming Monday. Thank you, we hope that you are all safe and well and that everyone is doing their best to limit the spread of the virus. 19.01.2022 VR Update November 2020 Official Release: Monday, November 16th It is with regret that the Management of VR advise that due to no easing of borders to Sydney and the available crowd numbers that the venue is allowed to have at events, it is not in a position to announce any re-opening during November. ... As it is now known, the re-elected QLD Premier has keep the border to Sydney closed until the end of November as a minimum which obviously restricts Management from traveling to and from their venues. The current crowd restrictions from NSW Health still has the venue only allowing a total of 500 people at any one time - which is simply not financially viable for Management to open the venue. Below is the current extract of the Public Health order that relates to VR. A further update will take place at the start of December and as stated last month, should restrictions ease or change before this date Management will revisit the position regarding opening for the 20/21 season. There has also been a number of rumours surrounding the season even opening; however, both Barry and Felicity are committed to having the season get underway as soon as it is possible with eased restrictions. Once a start is imminent a revised calendar will be put in place and published with regards to updated events. Extract form the Public Health Order: From Saturday 26 September, interregional community sporting competitions can recommence without restricting these activities to regions or zones, where there is a COVID-19 Safety Plan for the school or community sporting activity in place. This includes the requirement to adhere to the 500-person limit for community sport activities (including participants, officials and spectators) and/or adhering to the one person per four square metre rule in indoor spaces. Organisations and spectators are to ensure that physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres is maintained between people that do not come from the same household. How many people are allowed Full details are provided in the physical distancing section of the COVID-19 Safety Plan: Attendance at major recreation facilities / Maximum capacity summary Ticketed event with each person assigned to a seat = Must not exceed 25% of seated capacity to a maximum of 10,000 people. Children count towards the capacity limit. Non-ticketed event and each person is not assigned a seat = 500 persons or one person per 4 square metres (whichever is the lesser). 02.01.2022 FINAL FAREWELL Official Release: Valvoline Raceway Tuesday, 30th March 2021 On the 19th of March 2021, the Management of Made Too Go were advised by the NSW Government that the compulsory Acquisition of the Valvoline Raceway would come into affect from the 19th April, 2021.... While the closure is highly emotive time for everyone involved with the Speedway, Management have been monitoring social media channels and see that an opportunity for people to get together at the venue one last time would be appreciated. The Management team will be at the venue to begin the closure process from the 6th April 2021, and wish to advise that on Saturday, 10th of April, the VR car park will be open for the 'Final Farewell' for anyone wishing to attend - between 12 noon and 5pm. The Merchandise Shop will be open with venue memorabilia available for anyone wishing to make a purchase. Given the venue by this time will be a construction site, access to the inside of the facility/track will be not be available; however, the Management Team will have some of the track surface for people who wish to take a jar of the track as a keepsake. 02.01.2022 20/21 AUSTRALIAN SPEEDCAR CHAMPIONSHIP CANCELLED 9th December 2020 - Speedcars Australia Inc. Speedcars Australia Inc, in conjunction with Made Too Go Pty Ltd, ...regrettably announce the cancellation of the 80th Australian Speedcar Championship scheduled for February 2021 at Valvoline Raceway, Parramatta NSW. Recognising the possible reduction in entrant and spectator numbers due to unexpected domestic and international border restrictions, the current limited racing in some states, and social distancing requirements possibly being expected of the venue with Speedway being classed as a community sport in NSW; both parties have elected to make this tough decision said Speedcars Australia President, Mark Harrington. While disappointing the event won’t proceed considering the upcoming changes to the Sydney speedway scene, we very much thank Made Too Go and all those involved in preparations to date for their support and efforts. While cancelling title events isn’t new to the 85-year old Australian Speedcar Championship with the annual event skipped during World War II; the uncertainty and other impacts of COVID-19 on the sport are unprecedented. But if history has taught us anything, Speedway and Speedcars as Australia’s longest running division; will no doubt thrive once more when restrictions are lifted, and the country can get back trackside in force. 01.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Official Release: VR Media Thursday, November 2020 With a lot of speculation surrounding the start of the Valvoline Raceway Season, Management can confirm that there will be no racing scheduled at the venue over the December/January months. ... A review of the government restrictions will be made closer to February (around mid-January) and if favourable, an amended calendar will be released after consultation with the division committees. Whilst this decision is regrettable under the current restriction situation, this clarification has been made to allow race teams and their families to be able to plan their time through this period. We appreciate your understanding and support during this time. #WeAreVR --------------------------------------------------------------------------- **EDIT: Once again, it is quite disappointing to read comments that suggest that we will not be racing at all this season; we have said from the very beginning of the Covid Pandemic that we are 100% fully committed to re-opening and racing as soon as it is permittable and we are doing everything in our power to make sure that this in fact eventuates - it may not just be as soon as we would have liked.
