25.01.2022 VAPP OPEN DAY (RSVP required) Saturday 5th October 2019 Mental health professionals are invited to join us at 9.30am for tea or coffee at 18 Erin Street Richmond for a 10am start.... PAPER: What kind of therapist are you? Reflections on the experience of reading together Marion Milner’s ‘The Suppressed Madness of Sane Men.’ Four psychoanalytic psychotherapists will each give a brief paper on an aspect of their way of working which cohered through their engagement with reading together the work of Winnicottian contemporary, Marion Milner. We intend to illustrate how therapists become - and continue to become - authentically themselves through the lifelong ‘learning from experience’ that is the professional and vocational path of a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. PRESENTERS Wayne Featherstone BA, BSW, PhD is a clinical social worker and psychoanalytic psychotherapist who works in private practice and also consults to the Lighthouse Foundation in their work with traumatised and homeless youth. VAPP Member. Anne Jeffs is a clinical social worker and psychoanalytic psychotherapist working with children, adolescents and adults, as well as a facilitator of group reflective practice for professionals working in the public health and welfare sectors. VAPP Member. Dr Allan Shafer MA(Clin Psych), D Litt et Phil is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and socioanalytic organisational and group relations consultant. VAPP Member.
