13.01.2022 Here it is. The announcement youve all been waiting for. Drum roll please... THE 2019 VARIETY VIC BASH RAISED OVER $1.82 MILLION FOR KIDS IN NEED! ... This record breaking number was an outstanding combined effort of 345 entrants and officials, across 94 Variety Bash Cars, 20 official vehicles and 20 rookie crews! Thanks to support from their families, friends, colleagues, sponsors and generous strangers, this colourful crew have smashed last years total by more than $100,000! The Variety Vic Bash truly is an event like no other. This year, we travelled from Melbourne to Geraldton, crossing the Nullarbor, venturing through three states and seeing some of Australias most remote and beautiful locations. We were showered with kindness and support from locals along the way and this year were extremely proud to have issued over $50,000 in grants to Aussie kids. In 2019 our Bash Grants saw Variety - the Childrens Charity Victoria funding an assistance dog, speech and safety enabling devices, equipment for a blind gymnastics program, learning resources, upgrades to an outdoor learning area, educational and sports equipment and contributing to a dedicated reading area to support special and sensory needs students. We also want to take the opportunity to acknowledge our highest fundraisers for 2019: 1. Sheen Panel Service from Car 50 - raised $402,058.35 Martin Stone, David Morgan, Mark Salvadori, Charles Camilleri, Kerry Smith, David Whitehead, Jake Pantas, Ben Stone & Simon Ross 2. The Land Monkeys variety bash from Car 3006 raised $340,002.22 Harvey Carretero, Daniel Smith, Brad Papworth, Gerrard Ellis, Dean Wells, Anthony Braunthal, Paul Wolff & Andre Collette 3. The Mario Brothers from Rookie Car 97 - raised $81,944.80 Patrick & Carlo Simonelli A remarkable effort from all involved, that we cant wait to put to use further improving the lives of kids facing challenges through disadvantage, sickness and special needs. We also presented two Variety - the Childrens Charity International Awards at our final night presentation in Geraldton. The first VI Corporate Award was Presented to MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade) for their outstanding contribution to the Variety Vic Bash over the last 13 years. The second, to Bash veteran Andrew Richards, who was awarded a VI Presidential Citation for his unwavering support to the children for more than 20 years. The amazing shots weve been sharing from the last few weeks have been captured by the spectacular Frank Amato Photographer. Frank has been a long-time supporter of Variety and his commitment and tenacity on the road once again cannot go unmentioned! Last but certainly not least we would like to recognise the hard work and generosity of our sponsors; WM Waste Management Services, ACE Radio, Budget Car Rental, Isuzu Australia, Sheen Panel Service, MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade), Ambulance Victoria, Seely International and Knorr-Bremse. Thanks to you, we can make the Variety Vic Bash a reality each year and raise money for kids across the country who are doing it tough. Next year, its the 30th Variety Vic Bash. To celebrate in style were headed to Great Keppel Island! Register your interest now at http://bit.ly/VarietyVicBash20

11.01.2022 The 2019 #VarietyVicBash officially began yesterday with 345 entrants and officials, 94 Bash Cars and 17 Rookie Crews! As per usual, there was no shortage of co...lour and costumes on display, as our loud and lively crew kicked things off with a bang! We thought there was no better way to begin than with a couple of grant presentations because after all, the kids are why we do it. Our entrants and staff presented 4-year-old Harrison his life changing assistance dog, valued at over $15,000. Harrison has Autism and faces a range of sensory processing issues. His new four-legged friend, Hazel, will mean reduced levels of anxiety, increased independence in the future and give his family the opportunity to get out and about in the community. Next up, we presented Essendon Keilor Gymnastics Academy with a cheque for $6,457 to help fund their one-of-kind Blind Gym Program. This initiative is for kids who are vision impaired and is designed to teach them how to fall safely and learn basic life skills like how to balance on a moving train or regain their balance after a stumble. An incredible program, that were very proud to support! This raucous crowd will be making their way from Melbourne to Geraldton covering 5,102 kms over the next 10 days. Passing through over 20 towns and issuing over $50,000 in grants, this years Bash is a big one! We also want to say a Big Variety Bash THANK YOU to our generous event sponsors WM Waste Management Services, ACE Radio, Sheen Panel Service, Seely International, Budget Car Rental, MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade), Ambulance Victoria, Isuzu Australia and Knorr-Bremse without you, the Vic Bash wouldnt be possible. And last, but certainly not least... our entrants! Congratulations on your outstanding fundraising efforts so far. Enjoy the next ten days. Travel safe and have fun!
