16.01.2022 The first time I touched and smelt Black Sesame Oil it seriously changed my life, sounds dramatic I know but it just smelt like being grounded to the earth if that could be a smell. Since then and learning all of its incredible benefits I have incorporated it into my daily life. So many benefits, to many to list but a couple that stand out for me are : Improves skin health : Has an affinity with the nervous system so in turn calms and helps to relieve anxiety Used Daily in Abhyanga (self massage) the benefits are quickly noticeable. 14.01.2022 A little update that the Studio will be taking a little break. Last day is this Saturday Aug 22 and I’ll be reopening on Wednesday Sept 2 . They’re are only couple of times available left for this week. Let me know if you would like to confirm a time or there’s always the online booking, it’s super easy. Good news the online store has been updated with all the organic + non toxic goodness with some more lovely there way. Also looking forward to sharing our collaboration with @muditaceramics and also there is the addition of a new service available on Mondays beginning in early September. 08.01.2022 How do you start your day? My partner and I got together when we both had teenagers 4 out of 5 of them were between 12 & 16 . From the beginning we always made time for some time together in the mornings. That meant getting up at 5am and going for a walk,swim and a quick coffee together. 7 years on and we survived the teens and a blended family it’s something we still do. The routine has changed overtime and most mornings we do our own exercise early but always meet for a co...ffee or breakfast before work, it’s become our daily date I cherish. In Ayurveda, establishing a healthy and consistent dinacharya (daily routine) allows the body to be in tune with the cycles of nature, promoting wellness. My Dinacharya is as simple as tongue scraping, morning self massage & exercise, slightly changing with the seasons. In keeping my morning rituals it gives me the grounding I need to start my day. 07.01.2022 When I was studying Ayurveda, I would go to college twice a week for 18 months and each day my teacher would have a big pot of Chai brewing on the stove ready for us when we arrived in the morning. I have to say looking back it wasn't the easiest time of my life, I pretty much over extended myself in every way. It was a stressful difficult time for me but at the same time absolutely life changing. I’ve shared my experience & the recipe passed down from my teacher in the Varnish Studio blog.
