The team over at Mudgeeraba parkrun are supporting the second round of Flirt with Dirt. A couple of distance options. And a chance to run with others and hopefully some familiar faces.

15.01.2022 Good morning. We are still needing a few more volunteers for our return event this weekend. Message below, pm or email if you’re available. We will need more barcode scanners as the morning progresses too. (You get to participate and volunteer at the same event). You will need a smart phone and the latest version of the volunteer app from its respective App Store. We will also be needing token sanitisers. And volunteer vest washers. ... 10.01.2022 The Event QR Code is here! As part of the requirement to reopen parkrun in Queensland, each event is to display a unique QR code for contact tracing purposes. We ask all participants, volunteers and spectators to scan the code and sign in each week. The QR Code is available at the event, on Facebook and on the event website. Scanning can be done prior to or after the event and if you do not have access to a phone that can read the QR Code, you can manually enter your information via this link: https://www.parkrun.com/trace/mxc

09.01.2022 A huge welcome back to Varsity Lakes parkrun, after being closed for 8 months it was great to see so many new and familiar faces at our 357th event. A beautiful Gold Coast day welcomed over 160 walkers, joggers, runners and volunteers. A special welcome goes out to the participants who were at their very first parkrun, we look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you to everyone who scanned into the event and did all they could to make parkrun COVID safe and enjoyable.... We hope to see you all back next Saturday for event number 358!

06.01.2022 Exciting times for parkrun - parkrun NZ will re-start this week! Check out their event Facebook pages to see what they have planned for the big day! A friendly reminder: please can we ask that you do not arrange, informally or otherwise, for groups of people to meet at our parkrun location at parkrun time until such time that events in our region are re-launched. parkrun continue to monitor the situation very carefully and any perceived return of parkrunning before safe to do... so could damage our ability to be welcomed back into our parks and open spaces when the time is right. We appreciate your co-operation and look forward to parkrunning with you all again, as soon as it is safe to do so.

06.01.2022 The reopening of the Varsity Lakes parkrun at the end of the month sees a changing of the guard with Renee Russell handing over the reins of the event to Andrew Kariko and David Loader yes it does take two people to keep up with Renee! A very big thank you from everyone at Varsity Lakes parkrun goes out to Renee for everything she has accomplished over the last four years. Renee has done a great job building the event and the community of volunteers, walkers, joggers and runners. It is hoped that Renee will still join us on parkrunday and continue to be part of the Varsity Lakes parkrun family.

Its super easy...just walk, jog or run 5km and enter your time into your parkrun profile. You can register 5kms on any day of the week, every day if you like its not restricted to Saturday.

01.01.2022 Participant Preparation Practice # 3 Don’t forget your barcode! There will be multiple scanners at parkrun tomorrow. When you finish, please see any of the scanning volunteers, hold out your token and your barcode so they may be scanned from a distance. Once you have scanned, please drop your token into the container provided. It will then be taken away for washing and brought back in time for the next event.
