25.01.2022 The recessional hymn of the opening service of the 40th Vic/Tas District Synodical Convention .... 7 months later than usual!

25.01.2022 During this COVID pandemic, we've been enjoying Zoom church services. We miss seeing each other in the real sense but we're also getting used to 'this is how it is', at least for a bit longer. Here's what the LCA has been up to and we thought you might like to read more about what the whole church has been up to. http://lcaenews.online/200707

23.01.2022 The planned parish service at Edenhope has now been reformatted to become worship via Zoom. Link will be posted in the next 24 hours.

21.01.2022 Here’s the link for our parish service tomorrow!

21.01.2022 Easter Sunday morning we enjoyed two virtual worship services. Here’s some footage from our dawn service at Vectis and the physical preparation behind the scenes. The government allowed a maximum of 10 people at any one church, to arrange services for live-streaming and recording for parishioners. We based the service outside the church hall where power and light was more accessible for technology and equipment. We thank God for the opportunity to share His Word through thi...s medium. HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED.

19.01.2022 Service time this Sunday is at 11am.

17.01.2022 DAILY DEVOTION 'What comes out' by Pastor Reid Matthias The things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart and these defile them (Matthew 15:11).... Read Matthew 15:12,1020 Isn’t it interesting, that when I read Jesus’ words, I think to myself, ‘Yeah, but what about the coronavirus?’ Jesus was responding to the Pharisees and the Scribes who seemed intent on making sure that the outward parts of bodies are clean, but Jesus could quite literally see to the ‘heart’ of their argument. It is one thing to be clean on the outside, but it is a more difficult thing to be clean on the inside. Years ago, my brother Ryan worked for the Juvenile Corrections Department. His job was to help troubled youth along their path and, during the week, they would have meetings to talk about feelings and issues. During one of these sessions, my brother was appalled at the abusive and foul language the young men used. So he instituted a rule that whenever any of them swore, they would have to spit into a styrofoam cup. The boys took this as a challenge thinking that my brother was naïve, so they’d rear back and put a real beauty into the cup. At the end of the session, Ryan spoke with reference to this verse: ‘What comes out of your mouth is a reflection of what is in your heart’. ‘Now’, he said to the boys, ‘all of you have to drink what you’ve put in the cup’. Imagine if all of us had to drink our words! But the opposite is also true. If our words and thoughts, the matters of the heart, are a reflection of Paul’s words in Philippians 4:8, ‘ if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things!’, then we understand the heart is clean. God bless your hearts and the things you say. Let;s pray....Heavenly Father, thank you for the beautiful things of the heart, for pure love for you and others. Guide my thoughts and words as I live so that others may hear good words and glorify Jesus. Amen.

09.01.2022 Mother’s Day can bring a mix of emotions for many women. There are those anticipating the birth of their first child, step-mums wondering what their place is, those who have lost their mother and are faced with grieving on Mother’s Day, there are mums who encounter feelings of hurt because their children have turned from God, and those overwhelmed with pain from the loss of a child. No matter what you face this Mother’s Day, you can turn to God and experience peace and healin...g through prayer. On this special day set aside to honor mothers, we ask your special blessing on all mothers, dear Jesus. May the work of their hands not be forgotten in Your sight. May their hearts be filled with love, compassion & forgiveness for their children, just as you’ve shown them. Let every mum’s example to her children be a guiding force in their lives, and may wisdom be passed down to the next generation of mothers. May all children reach out to their mothers in some small way today, whether that is to honour their memory, to make a phone call or give them a hug. Thank you Lord, for our mothers. For all their imperfections and idiosyncrasies we give you thanks for making them ours! Amen
