25.01.2022 Progressing slowly. Managed to dodge the misty rain and we planted out 4 of the 6 rows by the end of the day.

25.01.2022 Last of the 26 left over vines planted out the back just now. Lost count on how many times I’ve done this chicken stretch in the last week!!

25.01.2022 Made the journey to Hobart today to pick up our 20 year old vines. Planting days coming up!! Thanks Kira-Lee for the lend of your horse float - payment for the hire of the float in wine in years to come !!!

24.01.2022 Finally found someone to dig me a hole or 6. Thanks for coming up from Hobart Liam to help plant the ‘end of vine rows roses’ #vineroses #niceevening #postheartopcantdigyet #goodhelp

23.01.2022 One step closer - New (2nd hand) Fermentation Vat - but won’t be using this till next year. Too good a deal to let go.

23.01.2022 Sunrise over the vines over 2 days

22.01.2022 At around 1:30pm this afternoon the last of the (above-and-beyond-extra-26) vines planted out the back just in case we have any that die out the front so we can transplant next year. What a week - time for a wine (OMG I’m getting a bit thin on top!)

20.01.2022 First vine in the ground late this afternoon.

19.01.2022 With the irrigation lines on the trellises it was about time to put the supply lines in the ground. A huge thanks to Matty for organising the Excavator. #vineyardirrigation #makeamess #butwellworthit #greatweatherforit

16.01.2022 What Grandparents get up to when they have their grandkids for the weekend. We went to the Nursery to buy some roses for the end of the rows to plant with granddaughters. Lily, aged 3, says we’ve got baby Rose but you can’t plant her - silly grandad! Unfortunately the nursery hadn’t received their stock of roses as yet - so we thought we could plant Baby Rose, aged 1, anyway!

16.01.2022 Stage 2 underway. Getting ready for a few Pinot Noir vines. A huge thanks to Wyatt for making the job of putting in the posts a breeze.

16.01.2022 Since planting a month or so ago, we’ve been sitting on the edge of our vat waiting for this moment (well we would have been if we owned a Vat!)

11.01.2022 Keeping a check on our vines - whilst celebrating my 50th on Saturday Morning #rainsnotgonnastopus

11.01.2022 Vines all planted - now to finish wiring the trellises.

10.01.2022 Busy day today. Thanks to Macca for coming around this afternoon and giving me a hand for a couple of hours. And Matty & Caity for digging the holes and setting the vines. Caity planted the last of the 162 vines at 6:30pm tonight.

10.01.2022 Beautiful morning in Forth so we took the opportunity to tie up the vines to the trunk wire. Just miscalculated the amount of tie we needed - we ran out with a couple of rows to go so we knocked off to have a cuppa.

08.01.2022 A birdseye view of our little vineyard

02.01.2022 2 x 200 litre Fermentation Vats should be just the right size to experiment with a bit of wine making. This is going straight to the pool room !! (well the old pool room shed !) #fermentationvat #winemaking #hopeiknowwhatimdoing
