22.01.2022 I love a good story. I distribute Verigrow, a locally-made liquid fertiliser and soil conditioner made from low-grade WA wool. I love what this product r...epresents. It’s about helping others, about working together and thinking a little bit differently to create a natural product in a sustainable manner. It all starts with low-grade wool, which is purchased at a premium from WA farmers. Verigrow wool is currently sourced from sheep in the Nannup area. Verigrow follows the principles of green chemistry. Green chemistry applies across the life cycle of a product, including its design, manufacture, use, and ultimate disposal. Green chemistry is also known as sustainable chemistry. Created by WA chemist Ramiz Boulos, the end product is a natural, all-purpose fertiliser and soil conditioner that can be used on all plants, including natives and edibles. We as consumers are generally attracted to the brands we know, brands that are familiar and well-established in the market. This can make it difficult to encourage retail outlets to stock a product on their shelves, occupying valuable shelf space, if it doesn’t already have a broad, trusted following behind it. As a small-scale distributor, I’m up against some big names in the industry and it’s tough. But I’m genuinely touched by the number of businesses, many of them small businesses, who have enthusiastically agreed to stock Verigrow on their shelves. They’re helping us to provide a much-needed outlet for sales and in return, we’re offering them a quality, locally-made product that you don’t see sold in the big chain stores. We’re helping each other, and working together to celebrate Verigrow and what it represents. The more Verigrow we sell, the more wool we need to buy from our WA farmers, and the more they benefit. Low-grade wool is a natural, sustainable asset. The organic goodness, nitrogen and amino acids that are present in wool are so good for soil and plant health. As more people embrace Verigrow, the more we can start to move away from many of the synthetic fertilisers and soil additives that have become such an issue. I invite you to become part of the Verigrow journey. Your purchase doesn’t just support our WA farmers and our local businesses, it also helps our environment and encourages us to understand the importance of using an under-utilised natural asset in an effective, sustainable manner. I can’t wait to see where this journey is going to take us. If you’re a nursery owner, hardware store owner, landscape yard owner, you name it, and you’d like to stock Verigrow, please touch base with me. I now distribute 5L bottles too. Thank you to the businesses listed below who already stock Verigrow. Bigga Trees - Specialising in Frangipanis and Ornamental Trees - Pickering Brook. Four Seasons Nursery & Hardware - Byford. Gaia's Organic Gardens. Green House Gallery - Kalamunda. Green Life Soil Company (available from Wednesday). Home Timber and Hardware - Margaret River. Jode Nursery - Esperance. 18.01.2022 G'day all gardeners: Ramiz Boulos, the creator of Verigrow, the worlds first liquid fertiliser and soil improver made from wool, sustainably sourced directly f...rom WA farmers, is visting Nannup on Saturday to discuss his new product. The wool is converted to a liquid fertiliser, high in nitrogen, providing plants with an absorbent amino acid soup. It also feeds the micro-organisms in the earth, improving soil quality. Verigrow is an all-purpose fertiliser, ideal for all plants, including natives. It can be applied to the soil and the foliage all year round. Verigrow proudly supports our WA farmers by buying their waste wool (wool that isnt suitable for clothing or manufacturing). Verigrow is made in OConnor by Veratin, a local WA company. The plastic bottles can even be returned and theyll be washed and reused, minimising waste. Ramiz will be presenting Verigrow each hour, on the hour on Saturday 12th, at 10am, 11am, 12noon, 1pm and 2pm at Keladry Farm Nursery. There will be plenty of time for questions between sessions, and the product will be available for purchase.
