18.01.2022 Ganoderma Rot is caused by the fungus Ganoderma applanatum. This fungus is an important decomposer of logs and stumps but it also colonises wounds, and can cause decay of sapwood and heartwood in roots, root buttress and main stems of trees. It affects native tree species such as acacias, eucalypts, as well as many introduced species such as oaks, elms, ash and some conifers. Call Vertical tree Management to have your tree assessed for pathogen such as fungus. 0434486322

03.01.2022 What is a consultant arborist (AQF Level 5) The assessment of trees is a specialised risk based procedure that takes into consideration a tree or a group of trees and their surroundings. This requires a highly developed set of skills that can only be undertaken by a level 5 consultant (Diploma in Arboriculture). This level of knowledge and experience is a prerequisite for the majority of Councils that request Arboricultural Reports for the private & public domains including the assessment of trees on development sites. Consultant arborist are continually developing throughout their career and should be active members in industry associations, workshops, & conferences. Additionally, a consultant arborist should have a valid ABN or ACN and relevant insurances and be able to produce these documents on request.
